**STABILITY ISNโT ONLY ABOUT MAKING A WING AS RIGID AS POSSIBLE.**
That distinction sits at the heart of the new **AirDesign Exta**.
Rather than relying solely on extreme structural stiffness, AirDesign deliberately balanced parakite stability with more progressive, paraglider-like behaviour outside the normal flight envelope.
Why does that matter?
A highly rigid parakite may strongly resist deformation โ but if a significant collapse does occur, its reaction can be more abrupt.
The Exta takes a different approach.
Its profile, internal structure and pyramid-shaped D-lines are designed to produce more familiar paraglider-like collapse behaviour and actively assist reopening following a frontal collapse. Progressive brake travel and a clearly defined stall point provide further familiarity and feedback.
Although this behaviour was developed with demanding mountain conditions in mind, the Exta certainly doesnโt need to be flown in the mountains.
Its inherent stability, accessible handling and progressive control also make it a reassuring and highly capable choice for coastal soaring. It simply adds another dimension: the ability to move beyond smooth coastal air when the opportunity arises.
**Safe and accessible at the coast. Capable in the mountains. One parakite with a genuinely broader playground.**
