The body doesn’t always behave they way we expect.
Watch the calf muscle in this video.
A great reminder for me: never assume - always ask for feedback.
The client is lying supine, knees bent, lifting and lowering the front of his foot - the heel stays grounded.
What’s interesting is:
When the forefoot lowers the he calf muscles visibly increases in tone - it almost looks it is going to cramp.
Yet the client says the muscle feels completely relaxed.
When he lifts the forefoot - when you expect the calf muscle to work - the muscle looks soft.
Such a good reminder that what we see is not always what the client experiences.
