🥋 Forge Ball Recap 🥋

Last night was one for the books, traditional Forge Ball brought the whole crew together (stay tuned for footage of the shenanigans 👀).

But first, massive congrats to those who leveled up:

🟤 Karana — Brown Belt
🟣 Blake — Purple Belt
⚪ Duncan — 3rd Stripe, White Belt

Huge respect to all three. Promotions in this sport are never given, only earned.

Our coaches also spoke on something that hit home, the challenge of training Jiujitsu in a small club, and how easy it is to compare your journey to someone else’s. But comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone here is walking their own path, carrying their own bag of challenges that nobody else can fully see. Showing up and continuing to chase this craft is no easy feat in itself.

Most people who walk through the doors of Axis Jiu Jitsu Academy Sunshine Coast don’t see themselves as extraordinary.

They are ordinary people carrying the weight of everyday life — work, stress, responsibility, self-doubt. Yet they choose to step onto the mats anyway.

Jiu Jitsu has a way of teaching what matters most: to be present, to stay calm in discomfort, to let go of ego, and to keep moving forward one breath at a time.

The real victory is not over another person. It is over the part of ourselves that wants to quit, panic or stay comfortable.

Extraordinary things are not achieved by different people. They are achieved by ordinary people willing to walk the path with patience, humility and purpose.
