DAY 1 — PHOTOSHOOT PREP
Less than 9 weeks until the shoot.
Although I’ve maintained my weight since my last shoot, I do feel there is still room for improvement. I want to up the intensity of my training, make some small changes and see what I can achieve over the next 9 weeks.
It’s so interesting how much your goals can change from year to year.
As many of you know, I will never compete again. After 12 years of bodybuilding, I’m very happy to leave the stage behind. These days I train 4 days a week rather than 5, and instead my goal has been much simpler:
I want to look good in a dress all year round.
Anyone who has been involved in bodybuilding will understand the fluctuations in weight, especially during the off-season. The off-season is necessary to build muscle, gain strength and make improvements to your physique, but it can also be hard mentally when you’re used to always wanting to be lean.
Now I don’t need to go through that stage of feeling uncomfortable in my body just to step on a stage.
I can train hard, build muscle, eat well and maintain a physique that I feel confident in all year round.
So this prep isn’t about getting stage-ready.
It’s about seeing what I can improve over the next 9 weeks, upping the intensity and having a goal that excites me again.
