Okinawa Kobudo Kazukan

Okinawa Kobudo Kazukan Kobudo is a traditional Okinawan weapon-based martial art. Kazukan is the honours the late Shihan Kazunari Hiura which was founded after his passing in 2008.

Kazukan teaches techniques, kata and partnered exercises using bo, sai, tonfa, nunchaku, kama, eku, sansetsukon and tinbe. "KAZU" from Kazunari and "KAN" Japanese word for school or training hall. Luke Schroor holds a 4th Dan in Okinawa Kobudo and was graded under Shihan Zenei Oshiro, Head Instructor Europe. Luke began his Kobudo journey in Australia being graded to 1st Dan under Shihan Takehiro G

aja. Moving to Germany in 2007 he continued his training under the instruction of Shihan Hans Baeuml, head instructor of Kazukan Dojo and Chairman of the German Okinawan Kobudo Association (OKVD). The OKVD is a member of International Academy of Okinawan Kobudo (A.I.K.O) lead by Shihan Zenei Oshiro, a direct student of Shimpo Matayoshi. Luke moved back to Australia in 2017 and continues in Okinawa Kobudo. It is an honour to be able to carry the name KAZUKAN and continue the teachings and close ties to its members in Europe.
