Today we had a very special visitor at BFT Wangaratta 👏💙

Blake stopped by on Day 4 of his incredible journey running from Geelong to Sydney as part of The Uncomfortable Challenge, raising money and awareness for mental health through Speak & Share.

Blake shared his story, the reason behind the challenge, and the impact he hopes to make through this journey.

Our members then joined him for a run session to help prepare him for the next leg of his journey to Albury, and it was amazing to see so many people show up to support him, cheer him on, and be part of his journey.

What Blake is doing is truly inspiring. The physical challenge is enormous, but the conversations he’s creating around mental health are even more important.

Thank you for spending part of your journey with us, Blake. We’ll be following along and cheering you on every step of the way.

Nobody talks about this enough.
The workouts matter.

But when life gets hard, busy, stressful or overwhelming, it’s usually not the workout that gets you through.

It’s the people.
The familiar faces who notice when you’ve been away.
The training partner who saves you a spot.
The coach who asks how you’re going, and really means it.
The friends you accidentally make while trying to improve your fitness.

Winter is exactly when this stuff really matters.

Because consistency often gets harder.
Motivation can drop when the temperature does.
Life gets busy. Winter sports, kids schedules, work shifts. The juggle.

And having people around you makes all the difference.

These are a few moments from the last couple of weeks at BFT Wangaratta 💙. So grateful for this community.

💥 MAY MEMBER OF THE MONTH: Josh 💥

Josh hasn’t been with us for long, but he’s already made a huge impact on the BFT Wangaratta community 👏💙

From day one, he’s brought an upbeat attitude, great energy, and a willingness to give everything a crack. He’s been incredibly consistent with his training, works hard every session, and is always looking for ways to improve. Whether it’s asking for coaching tips, refining his technique, or pushing himself that little bit further 👊

What really stands out, though, is the effect he has on those around him. He creates a positive atmosphere in every class, is always encouraging others, and has become a genuine motivator for those he trains alongside.

Josh is the type of member that helps make our community what it is. We’re incredibly lucky to have him as part of the BFT Wangaratta family and can’t wait to see what he achieves next.

💥 500 SESSIONS FOR CHAR!💥

What an incredible milestone 👏🔥

If you’re in the studio at 5:15am, chances are you’ve seen Char putting in the work. She’s one of those members who just keeps showing up consistently, and with a great attitude every single time 💙

Even while completing her nursing qualification in Melbourne, Char made sure her training remained a priority, finding ways to stay consistent before returning home and picking up right where she left off.

Over the years, she’s taken on multiple HYROX events and is currently training hard for HYROX Sydney 👊🔥 Her willingness to challenge herself and step outside her comfort zone is something we really admire.

Char is incredibly coachable, always willing to listen, learn, and give things a crack. She’s an absolute pleasure to coach and brings a positive energy to every session she’s part of.

500 sessions is a huge achievement and a reflection of years of commitment, consistency, and showing up for herself. We’re so proud of you, Char congratulations 🎉💪💙

A lot of people join a gym thinking the hardest part will be the training.

Usually it’s just showing up consistently. Not the perfect session every time, but just coming back, week after week.

It turns out turning up gets a whole lot easier when people know your name.

When someone is expecting you.
When there’s a familiar face on the bike next to you.
When someone notices you missed a session.
When everyone is lying on the floor after cardio, pretending to be fine, together.

That’s why group training works so well for so many people, even though they couldn’t never stick to training on their own.

It’s not because every workout is magical.
It’s because after a little while, you’re not walking into a room full of strangers.
You’re seeing your buddies 👯‍♀️
