It was a beautiful morning in Nagambie for our U10s side, with 12 Warriors taking the field despite a few players being unavailable.

The boys produced another strong team performance in what was an entertaining game of football. Both sides created plenty of scoring opportunities throughout the match, with the Warriors showing great effort, teamwork and determination from the opening bounce to the final siren.

Ravi was outstanding down back, providing plenty of clearing kicks and helping keep the opposition under pressure whenever they pushed forward. Kade attacked every contest with determination, keeping his head over the ball all day and winning a number of hard-fought possessions for his team.

Player of the Match was awarded to Bryce after an excellent all-round performance. Bryce found plenty of the football wherever he was positioned on the ground, using his skills well and working hard from start to finish. His consistency, effort and impact across the game made him a deserving recipient of the award.

A great team effort from all the boys, who continue to improve each week and support one another on the field.

The U14s made the trip to Moama and returned home with a terrific four-goal victory after another strong team performance.

The opening quarter set the tone for the day, with the Warriors taking control early through strong pressure, clean ball movement and a willingness to work hard for one another. The team made the most of their opportunities and built an early advantage that would prove crucial.

Fionn was outstanding throughout the match, running hard from start to finish and producing several brilliant run-down tackles that lifted the team and stopped the Magpies' momentum. Through the middle, Kobe and Harvey worked tirelessly all day, providing plenty of drive and linking up well around the ground. Kobe's long, penetrating kicks into the forward 50 were a feature and created numerous scoring opportunities for the Warriors.

Up forward, the Warriors were well rewarded for their efforts. Declan found space hard to come by early but remained patient, continued to present strongly and finished with three important goals. Fionn added two majors of his own, while Jackson, Lachie and Koda each hit the scoreboard to cap off a strong team performance in attack.

A special moment came when Lachie kicked his first goal of the season, a well-deserved reward for his hard work, commitment and persistence throughout the year.

Down back, Jagat led a determined defensive unit that stood tall under pressure and worked hard to limit the Magpies' scoring chances. The defenders remained composed when challenged and played a vital role in securing the win.

One of the highlights of the final quarter came from Aliyah, whose fierce shepherd created space for a teammate and directly led to a Warriors goal — a fantastic example of her selfless, team-first attitude.

It was a genuine team effort, with every player contributing throughout the day. The Warriors showed great determination, teamwork and resilience to come away with a well-earned four-goal win on the road.

Coach Matt - We were treated to great Wandong weather for our home game this week as the U9 Warriors took on a determined Nagambie side. From the first bounce, the boys brought fantastic energy and effort, making it an exciting contest throughout the day.

The teamwork across the ground was outstanding, with every player contributing and playing their role. It was great to see the boys working hard for each other, sharing the footy and never giving up in any contest.

Hunter and Cody both played terrific team football all game and should be proud of their efforts.
Special mentions also go to Louis, Freddy, Kane and Oliver for the impact they had and the way they competed all day.

Another strong performance from the team before a well-deserved bye week. Enjoy the break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready to go.

🏉 Round 6 - Coach Corey 🏉

Another great game by all our Warriors this week against Nagambie.

The day didn’t start the best, with three of our players injuring themselves during warm ups, but the kids pushed on and showed great determination all game.

Nagambie were also short on numbers, so each quarter we lent them two of our players to make sure every child got a run and no one was left sitting on the bench. It was fantastic sportsmanship from our team and great to see the kids just wanting everyone to enjoy their footy.

Kyle had a super game today and got involved in more contests than he has all year. It was awesome to see his confidence growing around the ball.

Blake and Raury showed some fantastic teamwork throughout the game, working hard together and supporting each other well.

Big shout out to this week’s Player of the Round Marley, who kicked a couple of goals and also dominated when moved down back.

Another fantastic team effort by all our players. Proud of the way the kids continue to support each other and play the game the right way 🖤❤️💛

Coach Duane -

We faced Nagambie this week in another tough contest, with the Under 12 Warriors getting off to a strong start and controlling much of the play during the opening quarter. Despite our early dominance, we were unable to convert our opportunities into goals.

The game stayed competitive throughout, with both teams having periods of momentum. To the boys’ credit, they continued to work hard, support each other, and stay focused right until the final siren. Wandong lifted in the last quarter, finishing strongly to come away with a 21-point win.

It was great to see every player make an impact throughout the game. The teamwork throughout the day was outstanding, with the boys working hard for one another from start to finish and showing a real willingness to play together as a team.

A special mention to some of our younger players — Zach, Harvey, and Arlo — who all performed extremely well and continue to show great development each week.

🟡⚫ COACH BEN - U14s GAME WRAP ROUND 6⚫🟡

A fantastic team performance from the group this week, with the team continuing to show great improvement in the way they move the ball and work together around the ground.

Our onball brigade was the engine room all day, working hard at the contest and giving our forwards plenty of opportunities. The whole side is starting to lower their eyes and look for options down the ground rather than rushing kicks forward, which was great to see and a real sign of development as a team.

Kobe was back to his hard-hitting best, attacking every contest with intensity and putting his body on the line all day. Dec was outstanding up forward, leading strongly at the footy and working tirelessly to create opportunities inside our forward 50.

Ella and Hollie brought plenty of energy through the middle of the ground, creating chaos for the opposition with their pressure, second efforts, and willingness to keep the ball moving our way.

It was great to see the entire group continue to play with effort, intensity, and teamwork right across all four quarters, with players constantly encouraging and supporting each other around the ground. The teamwork, communication, and willingness to support one another continues to grow each week, and it’s great to see the confidence building within the group.

Round 5 U9's Wrap-Up

Coach Matt - We travelled up the road to Seymour to take on St Mary’s at Kings Park. We woke up rain, & the wet weather stuck around for the entire day, making for a tough but exciting contest.

It was fantastic to welcome back Kane to the squad for his first game of the season. Kane didn’t waste any time getting involved and put in a strong performance across the day.

With St Mary’s running an undermanned side, our boys showed great sportsmanship, with 12 players rotating through to help keep the game competitive and fair.

Despite the conditions, every Wandong player played their role and contributed to a strong team effort in the wet weather battle.

Player of the match went to Tatum, who had a dominant performance across the ground and capped it off by kicking the final goal. Well done, Tatum 👏

Special mention to all the boys today — great effort in tough conditions.

Super proud of the group.

Coach Ben -

The Wandong Warriors showed plenty of fight and determination this week, overcoming another slow start to work their way back into the contest. After falling behind early, the kids lifted their intensity around the ground, regained momentum and kept pushing right until the final siren. In the end we got within two goals, but just couldn’t quite bridge the gap.

Koda was stunning up forward, providing a dangerous target and creating plenty of opportunities in attack. Mason was outstanding across the back line, reading the play well and setting up countless drives into the forward half with his rebound and ball use.

Ella and Hollie both worked tirelessly at ground level while also taking some important marks around the contest. Dylan never stopped running all day, putting in another hard-working performance across the ground.

Tyler’s fierce tackling lifted the team when we needed it most and helped spark our fightback, while Fionn handled plenty of attention from the opposition but continued to compete with great heart and determination all game.

Harvey added plenty of pace when moved onto the ball, giving us drive and energy through the middle as the boys charged home late. A strong effort from the group and plenty to build on heading into next week.
