We're proud to announce the awarding of a new research grant with Macquarie University!
The grant valued at $200,000 will fund pioneering research to explore the postsynaptic relationship between the proteins tau and βtwo key players in brain function and pathology. Tau protein dysfunction is a hallmark of several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimerβs disease and frontotemporal dementia.
The project will involve the creation of gene therapy vectors and will advance the understanding of cellular mechanisms that contribute to SYNGAP1 and build the foundation for future targeted treatments.
