MAKIN THE SHOWS!!!
Team MLR3D hit the road Toowoomba QLD bound for the combined QLD title and Australian Late Model Title at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway with 3 nights of racing over 4 days.
The open trailer, 3 caravans, Coop28 and a motorhome in convoy we where set for the biggest week of racing the team has done since we started this deal.
Wednesday night we hit the ground runnin going 5th fastest in our flight of 21 cars and 11th out of the 42 cars signed in.
That put us out of P3 in the heat and right from the get go we got run over by some fast cars and finished 5th, 1 spot out of transfering into the A main.
We started off the pole in the B main and managed a 3rd which got us in the show starting out of 18th.
The team then made the call to start and park and save our equipment for the Aussie title.
Friday night we had another great start qualifying 11th out of 40 with a p3 and p6 start in our heats which we finished 4th in both.
We started out of P7 in our prelim feature and came home with a 6th place finish against some of the best in the business.
Rollin into the final night we where sitting at 14th out of 40 in points and with one heat to go we needed a solid run to make it into the big dance and avoid any c or b mains.
Starting out of P3 we needed to maintain position and collect the points but we got caught up in someone elses mess which tore up the car and managed to salvage a 7th place finish.
The team busted hump to get the car sorted thinkin we may have to go through a b main but we had secured enough points to go straight through to the big show and the biggest race we have ever been in.
Starting out of 18th we had some work to do but our XR1 Rocket by Grim Race Cars was fast and we started moving forward about 6 laps into our 40 lap feature.
With about 10 to go we had a restart and unfortunately had no where to go when a couple of cars in front got together and we took a hit to the side that damaged the car pretty good.
We where able to keep rollin and finish the race comin home in 14th place which for this hard workin little team was a huge achievement.
Toowoomba Speedway and Late Models QLD congrats on putting on 2 awesome events, what a show well done.

To all the fans that came out to the track to support Late Models, bought a MLR3D t shirt and the wheelman may of even signed his first autograph or 2, your all awesome.
Most importantly to my Family and Friends that put their all into this team, i couldnt and wouldnt do this without u.
Karlie, Brades, Shelbs, Ron , Amber, Kristy, Jac, Troy, Jed, Caydo, Coop, Arch, Ede and me little buddy Kye, although the adreneline of racing is an addiction, the tear in my eye and the lump in my throat when i think about everything you all do for me is what truely makes me want to turn another lap, so proud of what we have acheived and i cant thank you all enough.
So cool to have the Snow mobile tag along on this trip with us aswell.
