🎾MDTA Junior Summer Competition Registrations Open 🎾

Expressions of Interest are now open for all returning and new junior players who would like to represent Wallan Junior Tennis Club in the newly amalgamated Mitchell District Tennis Association (MDTA) for the Junior Summer Competition, commencing in October 2026.

This season offers two exciting competition formats:

✅ Saturday Morning Competition
Running throughout the traditional summer season in Term 4 2026 and Term 1 2027, and taking a break during the Summer Holidays.

✅ NEW Friday Twilight Competition
A shorter six-week competition featuring a gala-style finale. Subject to demand, this format is intended to continue as a shorter, term-by-term competition.

Giving juniors more opportunities to play tennis, players can nominate to participate in either competition or both.

Congratulations to all our Wallan Junior Tennis Teams on a wonderful BDJTA Winter Competition season.

Rain, wind, fog or shine, our junior players have shown outstanding determination, sportsmanship and passion on the court every week. We are incredibly proud of the way they have represented Wallan Tennis Club throughout the season.

Thank you to the parents, team managers and coaches whose commitment, encouragement and hard work have helped make this season such a success.

We are especially thrilled to have three teams representing Wallan Tennis Club Grand Finals:

🎾 Junior Rising Stars Shine in Mansfield 🎾

Today, seven of our junior players competed in the Goulburn Valley Rising Stars Tournament in Mansfield. The sun broke through the morning fog just in time for a fantastic day of highly competitive tennis.

It was great to see Lilly, Isla, Lucas, Kaden, Blake, Luca and Xander rise to the challenge, compete with determination and resilience, and support each other throughout the tournament. A big thank you to parents and Coach Russ for making the trip to cheer-on our players, and provide support throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to all players for the way they represented the club both on and off the court. A special mention to Kaden, who took home the U12 Boys Singles title, and Blake, who claimed the U10 Boys Singles title.

Well done to everyone involved on a terrific day of tennis and great sportsmanship. 💚

We are delighted to share that two of our Wallan junior players - Blake and Luca - were recently invited to represent Goulburn region in the U11 Frank Sedgman Cup.

Played in Traralgon last week, the competition brought together some of Tennis Victoria’s best junior tennis players. Our boys held their own and showed great resilience in challenging weather conditions. Congratulations Blake and Luca.

🎾 Wallan Junior Tennis Club Update 🎾

What a fantastic finish to the BJDTA Summer Competition! A great effort from all players across Sections 1-4, and we wish our Green Ball players all the best for their upcoming Gala Day.

🏆 Congratulations Luca and Blake in Section 2 ❤️ Red Team, and Lucas, Durvish and Manroop in Section 3 🤍 White Team. Both teams won their respective Grand Finals in challenging weather conditions, and we are incredibly proud of them!

Special congratulations also to our junior players who were also awarded “Player of the Season”:
🥇Luca in Section 2
🥇Lucas & 🥇Manroop equaling in Section 3

💜 A big shoutout to Wallan Purple in Section 4, who fought hard in their Grand Final, but didn’t take home the flag this season. A great effort and something to build on!

❄️ Winter Competition Update
The junior winter season kicks off the second weekend of May. An Expression of Interest form will be shared soon with players and Hello Tennis coaching clients. Our biggest weekend of the year is back! Join us from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April 2026 for the 97th Annual Easter Tournament at the Yea Recreation Reserve.

Four days of great tennis, community spirit and Easter tradition - with events for all levels, from Open through to C Grade.

📅 Tournament Dates: 3–6 April 2026
📍 Location: Yea Tennis Club, Recreation Reserve
🎾 Events: Open, B Grade, C Grade & Under 16
👧 Juniors: Under 16 Boys & Girls Singles will be played on Easter Monday - all juniors very welcome!
