🏀 WE’RE BACK ON 🏀

After a little bit of debate trying to work out a date that worked for our playing teams, without pushing the GF out too far, we can now tell you to lock in this coming Thursday night 👏🏼

Wendy will be back serving up delicious food for our final night of the season and don’t forget to hunt down Tess to grab some raffle tickets for the raffle being drawn after presentations 🎟️

❌ Important Update: Grand Final Postponed ❌

Due to the incoming cyclone, the City of Greater Geraldton has made the decision to close all facilities from Friday through Monday. As a result, our Grand Final scheduled for this Friday night must be postponed.

We know how disappointing this news is and we are just as gutted as you are. After a fantastic season, we were all looking forward to crowning our champions this Friday night. However, the safety of our players, families, and officials is the absolute priority.

We do not have a confirmed date for the rescheduled Grand Final just yet however we will post an update as soon as a new time is locked in.

Please stay safe, look after one another, and keep an eye on this page for further announcements 👏🏼

🚨 THE GRAND FINAL COUNTDOWN IS ON🚨

From the kids' shoot off comp to the main event, you won’t want to miss a second of the action so come on down and celebrate the end of a fantastic season with us!

🚚 Hungry? JBCuisine will be onsite from 5pm serving up the goods!

Great food, high-stakes basketball, and a family friendly atmosphere. So bring the noise, bring the family, and let’s show our finalists some WBA spirit! 📣

Note: We know that everyone is checking the forecast! As of right now, grand finals are going ahead 👏🏼 However, we are monitoring the cyclone’s path and will prioritize everyone's safety above all else. We’ll be playing it by ear and will be able to make a final call closer to the event if the weather becomes too chaotic for the stadium or travel.

That’s a wrap on our first ever kids coaching sessions! 🏀

A huge thank you to our sponsors: Rebel Sport Geraldton, Sammy Walton, and Stu Broad for helping us purchase equipment to get this program up and running. Your support has made a real difference, and we hope to continue running these sessions each year for our young players.

Thank you also to our fabulous coaches and parent helpers who gave up their time over the last 5 weeks, to help the kids learn new skills and have fun on the court. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Lastly, a big shoutout to local small business Baddie Apparel, who managed to get these incredible shirts done for us so close to the end of the season 👏🏼 They looked fantastic and really made for an awesome end to these sessions!

It’s been fantastic to see so many kids getting involved in basketball and we’re excited to see these future WBA stars continue to grow ⭐🏀

It's time for the Walkaway Basketball Association Annual General Meeting in preparation for the 2026 Season!

When: Friday 14th November, 6.00pm
Where: Walkaway Rec Centre

All teams wanting to play in the 2026 comp must send a team representative.
