South Wagga Football Club

South Wagga Football Club Official page of the South Wagga Warriors Football Club Founded in 2000, South Wagga’s inaugural year was the 2001 season.

With a home ground based at the showgrounds in central Wagga Wagga, the Warriors are a proud club who play in green, white and black. From humble beginnings, the club has grown rapidly during the past few years to now include a full suite of senior teams. Excitingly, they have a junior base on the rise with teams represented in under 5’s through to under 16’s. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly and sociable club and the doors are always open to new players irrespective of their ability or background. In recent times, the Warriors have tasted some success with the Men’s team winning the Pascoe plate final and the Women’s team grand-finalists in the Madden Cup for the 2019 season. With a young and enthusiastic committee and solid core of committed players, supporters and sponsors; the Warriors are set to make a major impact on the 2022 season.

📣 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: UNDER 13'S WARRIORS ⚽

The Under 13's Warriors have had an extremely impressive season. Coached by Della Burns, Julio Carletti, and South Wagga's most successful coach to date, Deonie Burns. The team have been strong all season, finishing the season as minor premiers. They won their semi-final with an impressive score of 6-0, and will play this Sunday (27th) in the Grand final at GeoHex park.

Our Junior Girls played their final in Junee today and WON! Congratulations to the goalscorer, Ghazal, and the whole team who will now play in the Grand Final next Sunday (27th) at GeoHex park!

Coached by Ben Cooper and Mark Evers, the Junior Girls have had an impressive season, finishing 4th and winning their first round of Semi-finals. They will play a second round of finals this weekend in Junee to hopefully secure a spot in the Grand Final.

💚 Junior Club people of the year: Della Burns and Julio Carletti

Della and Julio have had a huge impact at South Wagga all year, making efforts to help out in the miniroos canteen every weekend, as well as coaching both a Junior and a Miniroos team together which involves running training and games each week. Della was our social media manager for this season, while Julio helps out wherever he can. They both played for South Wagga with Julio making his first-grade debut as a last-minute goalkeeper for an away game. They both manage to do all of this while balancing work, school and social commitments.

🏆 CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR 🏆

💚 Club person of the year: Luke Knox-Niven

Luke is recognised as the main reason the Showground field has been looking incredible compared to other seasons. Fondly referred to by fellow committee members as "Groundskeeper Willie", Luke has spent countless hours at the Showground mowing, spreading soil, digging weeds, and getting it back to a playable standard. He has been loyal to the club for years, with involvement with the Under 18's and even having a kick in 4th grade this season. On top of this, he is an outstanding person and very worthy recipient.

🎉 THREE FROM THREE!

Introducing the three Junior teams representing South Wagga during the 2026 finals series.

⚽ UNDER 13'S WARRIORS
⚽ UNDER 14'S
⚽ JUNIOR GIRLS

Both the Under 13's Warriors and the Under 14's are confirmed to be playing in the Grand Final on the 27th of September after their wins yesterday.

The Junior Girls won their elimination final and will play the second round of Semi-finals agains Lake Albert in Junee next weekend. This will decide which team plays the Grand Final.

Special mention to the four boys playing two Grand Finals, Amanuiel, Emmett, James, and Yousef.

South Wagga is so proud of the future of our club and has been cheering them on every step of the way!
