Farrer FNL Ladders 🏆

Round 9 is complete and after a well earned June Long Weekend break, the second half of the Farrer League season is set to get underway 🔥

On the field, in Seniors, East Wagga Kooringal Hawks remain the benchmark, sitting undefeated after the opening nine rounds. Behind them, Temora Kangaroos, North Wagga and Marrar Bombers are locked in a tight battle on five wins each.

CSU Bushpigs sit undefeated atop the Reserve Grade ladder, with The Rock Yerong Creek Magpies just one loss behind in hot pursuit. The Under 18.5’s competition remains wide open after Round 9, with Northern Jets leading the way, and North Wagga Saints and Coleambally Blues firmly in the mix.

On the court, Temora Kangaroos hold top spot in A Grade, however Marrar Bombers and North Wagga Saints are only one win behind, setting up a tight battle for the remainder of the season.

North Wagga Saints are the team to beat in A Reserve, sitting undefeated at the halfway mark. B Grade, C Grade, and the Under 17’s competitions are all tightly contested, with CSU Bushsows, Barellan Two Blues and Temora Kangaroos sitting atop their respective ladders.

Who will make their move in the second half of the season? 👀

Riverina FNL Ladders 🏆

Round 8 is complete and the race to finals is heating up 🔥

On the Field, Coolamon Rovers remain the team to catch in the Senior Competition, but the chasing pack is refusing to let them get too comfortable. With just a handful of wins separating the contenders, the battle for a place in the Top 5 is set to intensify as we approach the second half of the season.

Reserve Grade and Under 18's are proving just as competitive. MCUE Goannas and Collingullie Wagga Demons share top spot in Reserve Grade with seven wins each, while Wagga Tigers and Narrandera Imperials lead the way in Under 18's with six wins each.

On the Court, MCUE Goannas continue to set the pace, holding top spot in A Grade, A Reserve, B Grade and C Grade. However, Coolamon, Collingullie Wagga Demons and Wagga Tigers remain firmly in the hunt, keeping the pressure on across multiple grades.

Meanwhile, the Under 17's competition could not be tighter, with Ganmain Grong Grong Matong Lions holding a slender one-point lead over Coolamon and Collingullie Wagga Demons.

Which team is set to make their move and who could be under pressure as the ladder tightens? 👀

Meet the Team 👋

Following Community Umpiring Week, it is only fitting that we introduce Troy Mavroudis, Umpiring Coordinator for ACT & Regional NSW.

Troy has been supporting umpires across Southern NSW for 11 years and has been part of the AFL family for more than 20 years. His role involves umpire recruitment, retention and education for both League-appointed and Club-appointed officials.

Troy loves the variety his role brings and the opportunity to meet so many passionate people who love umpiring and Football. He especially enjoys sharing coaching tips that help umpires improve and watching them develop throughout their umpiring journey.

One of Troy’s proudest achievements is helping drive growth in umpire registrations year after year while championing diversity and inclusion across the region. He has also enjoyed some unforgettable experiences on the field, including umpiring more than 130 games and officiating an exhibition match at The Oval in London.

When he is not busy at work, Troy enjoys spending quality time with his family, following his kids' sporting pursuits and hanging out with their Jack Russell, Trevor.

Fun fact: Troy is an avid collector of coins, basketball cards and stamps!

Community Umpiring Week Wrap-Up 💚

As Community Umpiring Week comes to a close, we reflect on the great moments shared between our Umpires, Players, Coaches and communities across AFL Riverina.

From School Football Grand Finals to Junior and Senior Competitions, it has been fantastic to see our Umpires recognised and appreciated for the important role they play.

While this week shines a spotlight on our Umpires; respect and appreciation should continue every week, at every game, across every competition. Footy & Netball simply would not happen without them.

Thank you to everyone who got involved throughout the week and helped support our Team in Green.

Community Umpiring Week Continues 🌟

This evening, we are shining a spotlight on the people behind the whistle.

Every umpire has their own story, journey and reason for giving back to the game and we have taken the time to get to know some of the dedicated individuals who help make Footy possible across AFL Riverina.

From how they first became involved in umpiring, to what they enjoy most about being part of the game, we are proud to share the stories of the people in green who show up each week for our Clubs and Competitions.

Join us in celebrating our Umpires and thank them for the important role they play in our game 🙏
