2023 multicultural jersey! ✊🏽
The artists of this jersey are Amy Daniel and Adam Mokoptupu.
We are very excited and proud to release such an amazing jersey filled with a lot of culture.
The description of the Pacific Nations artwork, designed and drawn by Adam Mokotupu.
“With multiple cultures represented in this one piece it has many meanings.
First a harmony between all island cultures represented as the work intertwines to show how the Pacific people use to network amongst themselves. Maori taniwha a water spirit representing power. Turtle representing healing, wisdom, spirituality and protection. Hammer head shark representing power, protection, guidance and adaptability. Plus many other features that have different meanings.”
The description of the Aboriginal artwork, designed by Amy Daniel, Marnie Lenehan, Sammy Cummins and Jess Burgess and Painted by artist Amy Daniel.
“This artwork represents community and cultures coming together. It has the Murrumbidgee River that goes through Wagga traced on it connecting two meeting places that represent Wagga City’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players and members. Feet tracks are connecting our other cultures who walk and play with us on this country and dots in the background for our past players, our elders and our community.”
Due to reasons that are out of our control only the Women will be playing in these jerseys tomorrow as the men’s have been lost in transport. We hope to have them next week for the Tumut Indigenous round.
