Last weekend the Narembeen Golf Club hosted a two day golf tournament.
Friday saw a great turn out of 58 ladies and men ready to play in trying conditions, but the rain did not stop it from being a great day.
The Ladies Open Day was a 4BBB, sponsored by DeLuis Family, which was won by Nat Kilminster and Kym Smith. Runners up were Jen Bow and Heather Talbot. Well done to all winners in the tough conditions.
The Men’s Day was sponsored by Delta and was won by Marty Farrell and Craig Woods. Runners up were Paul Wanless and Bruce Parsons.
The Cusack Cup was held on Saturday with the day was full of promise with the rain clearing and sun trying to shine. Unfortunately, the golf was less promising.
Marty did well to back up his win with another successful day. A great result as Marty leaves Narembeen as a winner over the two days.
Thank you to everyone who helped prepare the course. Tees 1 and 10 looked especially impressive with thanks to Stephen and Chris for all their hard work.
A big thank you also for everyone who provided food and helped in the kitchen, without these volunteers there would be no event.
Lastly thank you to the sponsors especially Delta, Deluis Family and the Cusack Family. Thank you also goes to Garrick Yandle and George Michalczyk’s Motive Travel for you sponsorship money for raffles.

On Wednesday the ladies played stroke for the 1st Qualifying round of the season. 12 ladies played for Jul Hayters trophy
Coming in with a great score was Amy Hardham with a 66 nett. Runner up was Julie Miller with 67 nett. Good scores went to Carol Currie and Noela Cole with 68 nett. The gross ball went to Noela Cole with 88 off the stick.

On Sunday there were 16 men hit off for the Presidents trophy. A Stroke round and 2nd qualifying round. Coming in with an outstanding score of 63 nett – that is 69 off the stick was Mike Currie. Over the years we have not had many score in the 60’s off the stick. A great effort Mike. Unfortunately this score gave Mikes handicap and bit of a hammering. The unlucky runner up with 64 nett – he was sure he would win with that score – was Ben Hunter. Other good scores were Robert Miolini 68 nett and Craig Woods 69 nett.
5 Ladies played stableford with Darien Pascoe coming in with 37 points and Miranda Noack had 36.

On Wednesday the Ladies play stableford for Chris Padfields trophy.
On Sunday the Mens foursomes championships has been rescheduled.

THANKYOU TO OUR SPONSORS FOR 2026

On Sunday we held the Club Opening Day for 2026. Boy it was hot. However not too hot for 28 players
who toughened it out. A great number of players and hopefully a good sign for the season of 2026.
The winners of the day were Tim Holly and Jack Cusack with a gross score of 55.56. Runners up were
Darien Pascoe and Danny Gray with 60.50 on a countback from Andy Hardham and John Currie.
Only heard of one mishap for the day – Woodsy (Craig Woods) spent the night with his bottom to the
wall due to a riiiippping time
when retrieving a ball from the hole. Bit of extra airconditioning Woodsy.
On behalf of our President Damon Hayter, Captain Paul Wanless thanked all members for the busy bees
that have been happening in the last month. Everyone has contributed their bit to get the course
and clubhouse ready for the season.
The day concluded with 30 enjoying a steak and salad dinner.
Reminder: The Club has a new bank account. BSB 066 229 Account 10001463. These details are on the
fixtures which are available at the clubhouse.
Subs are as follows – Full $200, Country $100, Social $20 and Green Fees are $10. Please use
surname as narration if paying online. It certainly makes the Treasurers job easier if these are
paid as soon as possible.
