A NEW SEASON!!
VCFC2022 is now recruiting for the new comp starting early April (weather permitting)
2 teams in different divisions so a place for everyone regardless of skill or experience but spots are limited ⚽️⚽️⚽️
All games played on Saturday afternoons

We have a trial game tomorrow and then next weekend (APRIL 17th) the BATTLE BEGINS (on two fronts!)
The draw is not yet available but it is hoped that both the Div2 team (1pm) and the Div1 team (3pm) will play at the same ground to maximise the enjoyment for the Army of Vineyard fans

Season VC2021 is nearly here...
Is this the year that you sign up to play??
We are looking for players (age 16-60) for our new Div2 side
Want to play but don't want all that intense, expensive District Comp hassle?
Rego about $200 (hopefully including kit) for a game every Saturday at 1pm (April - September)
Ideal for the semi- or recently-retired player
Father + son fun!
Can't run 90mins? Don't worry - there'll be some younger fitter guys who can - you just come on and be the hero when needed (or come off when you can't run anymore!)
Young guns - time to shine!
Competitive but not cut-throat league played (usually!) in a good spirit
You will enjoy the experience (unless you break a leg I guess...)
Training optional (Div2 players are always welcome to train with the Div1 team)
The proposed Div2 side already has a keen Div1 player to act as coach/manager (and the rest of the squad will be your biggest supporters!)

Already we are in preparation for season 2021 (hoping it's a bit better and freer than 2020...)!
Season 2021 will start in March - so NOW is the time to let me know if anyone out there is interested in playing for Vineyard Cross FC in it's 3rd season
All games are Saturday afternoon at either 1pm or 3pm
Many of the current squad are still getting together and playing (6-a-side) and having informal training
VCFC are looking for 2 kinds of players:
Firstly anyone who feels that they can raise the standard of the current squad (we finished 3rd in Div1 this year but our ambition is definitely HIGHER than that...). Whether you are young (min age is 16yo) or an older (no max age!), experienced guy interested in a competitive but less aggro comp (generally) played in a good spirit, or something in between - please contact us (myself or any of the current team). Fresh blood is always welcome!
Secondly, VCFC has the aim of fielding a team in BOTH divisions. So if you aren't so good, or never played but keen to have a go, or even if you are pretty good but for whatever reason just want to play for fun and help and support others in the Div2 team learn/develop their game, then I need 15+ players willing to form a Churches League Div 2 side for VCFC
NB - the 2 teams will remain separate squads all season (although of course any 2nd team player is welcome to trainings with the Div1 team). The current Constitution does not allow a "reserve team" to feed into the first team - this was discussed at length at our recent CFABM AGM (brought to the table by me) but this comp isn't currently set up or ready for that change even though there was general agreement that it would be a good thing to aim for in the future.
Meanwhile for everyone else - thank you for your support and encouragement - this team is growing in strength and confidence - we really appreciate the fans (looking forward to a real crowd coming to watch us play one day!)
