We want to reassure residents that the proposed spectator fee at our aquatic and leisure facilities will be removed from the fees and charges to be considered for adoption in the Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2026-27 on Monday 29 June.

Council remains committed to balancing the long-term sustainability of our facilities with keeping them welcoming, accessible and family-friendly.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to listen as we plan for the future of our community facilities.

📣 Update: Works are now complete. Parking at the centre is now as per normal operations.

🚘 Please note there will be limited parking at Bay & Basin Leisure Centre tomorrow, Friday 19 June, while works are carried out at the centre.

A crane will be set up on the adjacent oval from the morning until early afternoon, resulting in fewer parking spaces being available than usual.

Please allow a little extra time before your visit. A small overflow parking area will be available behind the amenities building at Vincentia Sports Ground, located behind the leisure centre.

🚧 Temporary Group Fitness Schedule Changes

📣 A heads up for our group fitness crew!

We're completing essential building works in our aerobic fitness room on Thursday, 11 and Friday, 12 June.

Due to these works, the following classes have been cancelled:

📅 Thursday, 11 June

• 9:15am Barbell
• 11am Pilates

📅 Friday, 12 June:

• 9:15am Power
• 10:15am Centergy
• 11:15am Everyday Fit

✅ Still running: All Ride/Cycle and Aqua classes

There may also be minor disruption in the main gym area during work hours (7am - 5pm).

Our normal schedule resumes Saturday 13 June.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as these essential works are completed.

👋 Meet Alister, who started his swimming journey with us at Bay & Basin Leisure Centre at just 1 year old, and recently represented at the NSW PSSA State Swimming Titles at Homebush!

This year alone, Alister has:

✅ Set a school swim record
✅ Placed 1st at District
✅ Placed 2nd at Regionals
✅ Competed at State level
✅ Slashed 7 seconds off his personal best
...and he's only 8 years old! 🌟

A huge thank you to his instructors along the way, Julie, Irene, Kim, and Gray, and to Alister's family for their dedication.

We're so proud to have watched you grow from our infant program all the way up to squads. Keep making waves, Alister!
