Well done girls!

Congratulations to our own Di Starke and Dee Davies on winning and running fourth in the Senior Women’s event of the NT Country Championships. Di also ran 4th in the Open Championship. Well done girls.

Congratulations to Nick Thompson on receiving his certificate for becoming a fully fledged PGA member. All of his South Australian peers were present as well as the CEO of PGA Australia, here at Willunga Golf Course.
Also congratulations on winning the SA Club Pro Championship today at Willunga.
Nick will be representing Willunga at the Australian final in Victoria in October, where the winner of the National final receives at start at The Australian PGA Championship. Well done Nick.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and fellow member Marg Row on the 30th December. During her time at McCracken Golf Club, Marg served on the Committee as Ladies Vice Captain and assisted our Members with disabilities to continue to play golf. Marg will be missed by all. Our deepest sympathies go out to Cliff and family.

We are very excited to announce Cameron Bickley to McCracken on a regular part time basis.
Cameron has spent the last 18 months working at the Blackwood Golf Club with Club Professional Matthew Dent.
Cameron was indentured to Matthew as a Trainee Golf Professional for 3 years but has decided to complete his training at Willunga and McCracken under Peter.
Cameron comes to us with many new skills including custom club fitting and analysing of your equipment with Flightscope technology. Cameron has also completed his training for coaching and is available for lessons by appointment. His training has also seen him become skilled in club repairs, lie angle adjustment, and other skills.
Cameron’s golf game has also been going extremely well having passed all of his playing requirements and earning a national invite allowing him to play in professional events.
Cameron has recently returned from competing in the Victoria/Tasmania state trainee championships at tocumwal finishing a very respectable 13th from the 130 starters. Cameron had rounds of 75,74,66,74 including the low round of the day with the 66 on the third day. (See below the extract from the PGA website)
Please make Cameron feel welcome in his new role as Assistant Professional at Willunga/McCracken.

Lachlan Aylen has extended his lead during the third round of the 2021 Vic/Tas PGA Trainee Championship at the Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club.
Scoring was excellent on the Presidents course as Aylen, a second year Associate at the Eynesbury Golf & Homestead, led by six shots after 54 holes following a 3-under par round of 69 that included 7 birdies.
He sits 16-under par 200, one shy of the tournament record of 17-under set Dale Crothers in 2019.
Aylen’s nearest challenger, Steffi Vogel (Cobram-Barooga), produced a strong round of 5-under par 67 following rounds of 70-69 to sit on 10-under par 206.
Luke Humphries (Goulburn) will be the final member of the last group after a third Round of 72 to finish 54 holes on 7-under 209.
In a tie for fourth is Tim Walker (Peninsula-Kingswood) and Tom Bond (Adelaide Shores Driving Range), who will both be joined in the penultimate group with Connor McLean (Melton Valley) who followed his first two rounds of 68-72 with another even par round of 72.
The best round of the day was shot by Cameron Bickley from the Blackwood Golf Club in South Australia.
Bickley’s bogey-free round included an eagle on the par-5 seventh and four other birdies that saw him jump from 33rd to a tie for 12th place.
Play moves back to the Captain’s Course for the final round today.

We are very excited to announce that we will soon be home to South Australia’s first Florida-style golf resort as part of a major upgrade offering luxury family-friendly experiences here in the heart of Victor Harbor. 🙌

The development will introduce a splash park, flying fox, playground, jumping pillow, minigolf, revamped accommodation and over 100 powered caravan sites.
