Such sad news. Hoping that Tony will pull through. Our prayers are with Tony and the Modra family.

SOUTHERN GOLF GROUP MEN'S PENNANT – FINALS HERE WE COME!
The final home-and-away round of the 2026 Southern Golf Group Men's Pennant season was played on Sunday, and what a finish it was! McCracken's men rose to the occasion, with our A1 and B1 teams booking their places in next week's Finals.

A1 Division
McCracken produced a dominant performance against Oakbank, recording a convincing 6–1 victory. Outstanding wins came from Daniel Smedley, Steven Scholefield, Tony Nobbs, Peter Jelf, Alex Chiera and Simon Bryant, with Jamie Evans narrowly going down in a hard-fought match.

B1 Division
The B1 side was equally impressive, defeating Links Lady Bay 6–1 to secure their spot in the decider. Cameron Beaton, Jason Barry, Matt Secombe, Zak Douglas, Gary Secombe, Ian Low and Ben Higgins all delivered for McCracken in a terrific team effort.

C1 Division
Our C1 team fought right to the finish claiming victory defeating Echunga 4–3. Congratulations to Phil Smedley, Anthony Dutton, Stephan Cronje and Tyson Haskell, who recorded wins for McCracken. While C1 won't progress to the Finals, the team can be proud of the commitment and determination shown throughout the season.

FINALS – SUNDAY 21 JUNE

The challenge doesn't get any easier, with both McCracken finalists set to face the benchmark side of the competition:

A1 Final: McCracken v Willunga at Victor Harbor
B1 Final: McCracken v Willunga at South Lakes

Congratulations to all players who have represented McCracken throughout the pennant season. A special good luck to our A1 and B1 teams as they chase Southern Golf Group premiership glory next Sunday.

Go McCracken!

Saturday's Competition Results

While the ladies wisely decided that a warm cuppa and staying dry was a far better option, 15 hardy McCracken men ventured out and took on the wet and windy conditions in Saturday's Stableford competition.

Congratulations to our winner, Bejay Thomas, who conquered the conditions with an impressive 38 points, edging out Anthony Dutton on countback. Dom Perre rounded out the podium with 37 points.

Nearest the Pin honours went to:
• Hole 2 – Bejay Thomas
• Hole 5 – Gary Secombe
• Hole 7 – Bejay Thomas
• Hole 13 – Alex Chiera

With no ladies competing today, four men have now qualified to represent McCracken at the Legacy Governors Cup Final at Glenelg Golf Club.

👏 Congratulations and best of luck to:
🏌️ Anthony Dutton
🏌️ Gary Secombe
🏌️ Graeme Polkinghorne
🏌️ Dom Perre

Well played to everyone who braved the elements. Hopefully next Saturday the only thing getting soaked will be the golf balls lost in the dams.
