Ever been Keen to Give Rugby League a go!

This October NRLSA will be holding a Four week 9-aside tackle competition which is a great introduction to the game of Rugby League, fun environment in fun games with only 9 minute halves and the South Adelaide Rugby League Club will be entering the following teams -

Open Men’s Tackle

Under 17s Boys Tackle
Junior Tag Games

Some history.
Once upon a time a rugby league player worked to earn his wage.

6 April 1972, Canterbury Rugby League player Bernie Lowther pictured at work at Bexley North Hotel.

Bernard Ross Lowther born 15 Aug 1950 — Kiwi international played in the shock 24-3 win over Australia at Carlaw Park in 1971. A strongly-built centre Lowther joined Canterbury the following year but seemed to lack enthusiasm after being plagued with a series of injuries. After missing out on a place in Canterbury’s 1974 grand final campaign Lowther signed with Souths. He later played for Brisbane Easts and coached Ipswich Brothers in 1981.

Happy new year footy fans.
Planning a get together soon to catch up and throw the ball around. Looking at Saturday the 16th of Jan. 3pm.
Our usual spot, Kent Reserve. Family friendly and if the weather permits might move it down to the beach.
