To the Vermont South Cricket Club family from Samir Agha,
As I handover the reigns at Chapter Too Cafe, I’ve found myself reflecting on the many people, friendships, and moments that have made the past few years so special.
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone at Vermont South Cricket Club — my teammates, committee members, coaches, volunteers, families, supporters, and everyone who makes this club what it is.
This club has always been about so much more than cricket. Yes, I’ve been incredibly proud to support Vermont South through Chapter Too Cafe as a sponsor, but what has meant the most to me is being part of the club itself — pulling on the whites, walking out onto the field, sharing the highs and lows, and being surrounded by such a great group of people.
Some of my favourite memories haven’t necessarily been the wins or the performances. They’ve been the moments in between — the conversations before and after games, the laughs in the rooms, the team dinners, the celebrations, the stories shared, the friendships built, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself.
Over the years, many of you have become more than teammates or familiar faces. You’ve become genuine friends, and that is something I will always value. The support, kindness, and welcoming nature of this club is what makes Vermont South such a special place.
I’ve always believed that sporting clubs are the heart of a community. They bring people together, create lifelong friendships, teach young people valuable lessons, and provide a place where everyone can feel connected. Vermont South Cricket Club does this incredibly well because of the people who give their time and energy behind the scenes — the volunteers, committee members, coaches, parents, and supporters who make everything happen.
Being able to sponsor the club through Chapter Too has always been about giving back to a community that has given me so much in return. The friendships and memories created through this club are worth far more than any sponsorship arrangement could ever represent.
Although I’m moving on from Chapter Too, I hope everyone knows how much this club has meant to me. Vermont South Cricket Club will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll always be grateful that I had the opportunity to be both a player and a supporter of such a wonderful club.
To every person who has been part of my journey at Vermont South — thank you. Thank you for the laughs, the friendships, the support, and the memories. I’m incredibly grateful for the years I’ve spent with you all.
I wish the club nothing but continued success in the future. Keep building the culture, keep supporting each other, keep welcoming new players and families, and keep being the club that makes so many people proud to be a part of it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to support the Vermont South Cricket Club family.
I very much look forward to seeing you all at the start of the new season.
With sincere gratitude,
Sam
