Check out this huge announcement from Armidale Servies Club!
Armidale Servies is set to open a new indoor children’s play experience, giving local families a safe, modern and weather-proof entertainment option and creating new employment opportunities for the region.
The Club has committed $2 million to develop the Tabatinga children’s play centre, with works set to commence in July and expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Armidale Servies President Mark Bullen said the new offering involves repurposing the Club’s auditorium to serve the evolving needs of the local community.
“Through our strategic planning, the Board identified a clear gap in the region — supporting the Club’s long-term viability while delivering a high quality, family friendly indoor activity space that is clean, safe and accessible year-round,” said Mr Bullen.
“Importantly, Tabatinga will be owned and operated by Armidale Servies and we expect the creation of up to 20 new jobs once it opens, bringing a much-needed economic boost to the region.”
Armidale Services CEO Scott Sullivan said the announcement would be welcomed by local families.
“This new facility will give local families a fun, interactive way to entertain their kids and meet a genuine need in the community,” Mr Sullivan said.
Tabatinga is a purpose built, jungle themed indoor play space designed to give children a safe and engaging place to play in a supervised environment.
The concept is already well established within the industry, with Tabatinga venues operating at many clubs across NSW.
It marks the end of an era for the Club’s auditorium in its current form, however the community is assured that events such as trade expos, ANZAC Day two up and community fundraisers will continue to be accommodated.
“While the auditorium will look different, our commitment to the community doesn’t change, and we’ll continue supporting the events and traditions locals know and value,” Mr Sullivan said.
Further details about the facility, operating hours and opening celebrations will be announced closer to completion.
