Post meeting with AHC 8/10/2025 the following email was sent:
Thank you and to Sam, Roger, Ryan, Craig and Adam for taking the time to meet with Jade & myself, along with Cr Cheater and for the open, honest conversations. We really valued the opportunity to hear your perspectives and better understand the club’s frustrations (!) and aspirations for the future of the site. While we don’t have all the answers yet, we’re genuinely keen to support the club and the community in moving forward and developing a clear plan for the future of the site. It’s obvious there’s a lot of passion and history behind the club, and the level of community interest and involvement is promising.
Our goal is to ensure the community continues to play a leading role in shaping what comes next — with Council’s support along the way. We believe this collaborative approach will help us achieve the best possible outcome for both the site and the community.
As Jade mentioned at our meeting, planning for the long-term future of the site will take some time, and we do ask for a bit of patience as we work through this process — particularly given our current staff resourcing challenges.
There is however an internal meeting scheduled this week to work through some of the key issues raised, and we’re confident this will allow us to provide some more clarity on a few of your pressing questions. We’ll be back in touch in the week commencing 27 November with an update.
Thank you again for your time and commitment to the process. We look forward to continuing to work together.
It was also decided that the club will limp along for another year, but look to the possible winding up of the club (depending on AHC response) in 2027.
