🌦️ Field Update – Not Quite the News We Were Hoping For... 🌦️

After a thorough inspection of our fields, and having confirmation that GCCC has only approved our fields for junior use at this stage (with Field 1 remaining completely closed) sadly we cannot go ahead tonight.

While many areas of the grounds are looking surprisingly dry, there are still several very muddy patches on all fields that would suffer significant damage if used. As a community club, we simply can't risk causing that damage and potentially facing substantial fines.

Unfortunately, this means our Mixed Seniors fixtures for tonight will not be going ahead. 😔

We know you'll share our disappointment — after all, we're all keen to get back out there! But there's plenty of good news too. ☀️ The sun is shining, the fields are drying rapidly, and conditions are improving every day.

With a bit more sunshine on our side, we're feeling very positive that we'll be ready to welcome our Men's and Women's competitions back to the field on Thursday!💜💜💜

🟣 Monday night - seniors mixed 6-7.30pm

🟣 Thursday night - men’s/womens 6-7pm & rep juniors train from 4.30pm

🟣 Friday night - juniors boys and girls 4pm
Little legends (5-7 years)
Juniors (8-14 years) 5pm

🟣 Sunday mornings 8-10am junior rep teams train

🔈🔈🔈UPDATE MAKEUP ROUNDS

Unfortunately, despite our hopes, our fields remain far too waterlogged and simply will not dry out in time for Sunday's scheduled make-up rounds.

We know this is incredibly disappointing for everyone, and we share that frustration. Unfortunately, these ongoing weather events are beyond our control, and once again we find ourselves navigating circumstances that have had a significant impact on our season.

The continued rainfall, combined with saturated ground conditions and slow field drainage, means player safety and field preservation must remain our priority.

We are currently working through the best way to manage the missed fixtures and the remainder of Term 2 across all competitions. We ask for your patience while we assess the available options and determine the fairest outcome for our players, teams, and community.

Further information regarding how we will proceed will be communicated as soon as possible.

Thanks to the rain, the only way to play touch footy right now is to reminisce on the sunny days… 😂☀️

** JUNIORS UPDATE **

Due to the significant rainfall our fields have received, all Juniors games scheduled for Friday 29/05/26 have been postponed.

Unfortunately, the fields are currently unplayable and player safety remains our priority at all times. With all surrounding waterways currently full, drainage across our fields has been extremely slow, making conditions unsuitable for play.

With the ongoing wet weather and the time restraints surrounding the completion of Term 2 competitions, the committee will be working through suitable options and determining the best possible outcome for the benefit of our community and all participating teams. Team delegates will be updated as soon as further information becomes available regarding postponed games and competition scheduling.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding and support during this challenging weather period.

Stay safe, stay dry, and we hope to see everyone back on the fields soon.
