Ric Williams pioneered the 4WD Adventure Magazines in Australia with the launch of the first ever national publication ‘Off Road Australia’ in 1974 with partner, the late Wayne Cantell. After a year he left Off Road Australia and followed this up by creating the concept of ‘Overlander Magazine’ for PM Publications in 1976. After several attempts, Ric managed to lure Michael Richardson away from Java Publications, where the young liberal was editing a couple of motorcycle magazines and take on the new challenge at PM Publications. Both Off Road and Overlander Magazines were instant hits in a market that had been starved from local 4WD content and had relied instead on imports from America and the UK. In 1977 Ric decided to do his own thing and together with wife Willemina launched Bushdriver Magazine. This was the vehicle that provided him with the opportunity to blaze a trail through every desert in Australia’s arid interior, the tropical jungles of Borneo and western Malaysia, the Sahara Desert in Morocco, Europe, England, Sierra Nevada USA, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, as well as the corporate corridors of many leading motoring giants world wide. You are now looking at a kaleidoscope of images, video clips and art work reflecting 24 years of our successful media promotional/marketing history, covering the main players in the 4WD manufacturing and related adventure industry. Willemina is a highly experienced graphic art designer, while both of us are professional photographers with an unquestionable passion to achieve the highest level of excellence.
