Every so often, you come across a message that just moves you to the core. Today, I received this incredible review from one of my students, Beth. Her words are a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do – it's not just about teaching singing, but about connecting, growing, and sometimes even helping someone find their light again.
Heres Beth heartfelt note
Have had three lessons with Damien so far and happy to recommend him to anyone that might be on the fence about 'learning to sing', It's much more than that!
Despite knowing that I sound ok (pitch good, breathing / control / confidence not so much!) I have never had the confidence to open my mouth in front of anyone let alone be open to being tested on wether or not I was 'any good' despite singing to (and by) myself all the time.
A few weeks agoI bit the bullet and went for an introductory lesson and it is to Damiens credit that I have continued to come and be able to not only work through my fear of being judged but enjoy the process. I warrants mentioning that I am 53 and autistic and doing things outside my comfort zone is NOT something Ive ever been able to do.
I have found Damien to be incredibly supportive and empathetic to the point where not only have I actually had a go AND felt comfortable doing so, In the short time I have been engaged with lessons I have found the effect on my confidence alone has been significant, the guidance regarding my actual range has been invaluable and I no longer feel like im just 'pretending' I'm getting to know MY voice and I'm looking forward to continuing to grow!
Thanks Damien!
