๐ Athlete Spotlight โ Victoriaโs Journey ๐
Every athlete starts somewhereโฆ
At the beginning of the 2025/2026 season, Victoria attended our Come & Try Night as a brand-new Little Athletics member. After experiencing the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere at McEvoy Oval, she and her family decided to sign up, make new friends and give athletics a go.
As the season progressed, Victoriaโs dad volunteered as an Age Manager. Hearing other families talk about weekend carnivals sparked their interest, so in November 2025 they decided to give one a try.
Competing on a synthetic athletics track for the first time was exciting, inspiring and lots of fun. They also realised there was so much to learnโand thatโs where the journey really began.
Victoria started attending our coaching sessions with Coach Kev, where she worked hard to improve her technique, race strategies and confidence. Week after week, her determination to learn and willingness to listen to her coaches helped her grow into a stronger athlete.
The results have been incredible.
โจ Since joining WWPLAC, Victoria has:
๐
Achieved numerous Personal Bests
๐โโ๏ธ Enjoyed success at her school athletics carnival
๐ฅ Been crowned her schoolโs Age Champion
๐ Qualified through the Central Coast Zone Championships and progressed to the Region Championships in the 1500m
๐โโ๏ธ Recently finished an outstanding 11th place in the 2km event at the 2026 NSW CCC & CPS Cross Country Championshipsโan incredible achievement against some of the stateโs best young runners!
Victoriaโs story shows that you donโt have to be the fastest or most experienced athlete to succeed. All it takes is the courage to have a go, the willingness to learn, and the commitment to keep improving.
With the support of passionate coaches, dedicated volunteers and a welcoming club community, athletes like Victoria discover what theyโre truly capable of.
