Whether you're finishing Year 12, taking a gap year or still figuring out what you want to do, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

AFL Tasmania is seeking a SportsReady Trainee to join our team on the North West Coast, and we're particularly encouraging young women to apply.
No football experience is needed.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is willing to learn, and wants to build skills and confidence while making a difference in their community.

🎬 AND THAT’S A WRAP ON 2026!

One last chat from Grand Final Day was with our fearless leader, NWFL President Gary Carpenter, to put a bow on what has been an incredible season of North West football. 🏉

Four Grand Finals. Four cracking games. Massive crowds. Premierships won. Hearts broken. And plenty of memories made.

And just how big was the crowd today?

Apparently the cans ran dry and an emergency delivery of another 70 cartons had to be brought in. 😂🍻

Safe to say, it was a thirsty crowd and one hell of a Grand Final Day!

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors who make our competition possible, to every club, player, coach, umpire, volunteer and supporter who has contributed throughout the year, and congratulations to all of our 2026 premiers.

What a season we’ve had.

And what a way to finish it.

From all of us at the NWFL, thank you for coming along for the ride.

🖤🤍 250 GAMES. ONE CLUB. WHAT A WAY IT WAS TO FINISH THE DAY.

There are players who play for a football club… and then there are players who are the football club.

Quade Byard bleeds black and white.

Through the highs, the lows, the tough years and now one of the greatest periods in Devonport’s history, Quade has been there through it all.

250 games. Premiership player. Premiership captain. Club champion.

And today, another premiership.

You only had to watch Quade in those final moments to understand what it meant.

Coming from the ground, looking across at the Ulverstone players, then turning towards the stands the emotion was written all over his face.

Then after the siren, a moment that probably sums it all up.

Game 250, a premiership secured, and being chaired from the ground by his dad and his brother. ❤️

Quade has been one of the finest footballers produced on the Coast over the past couple of decades and will undoubtedly finish his career as one of the greats of the Devonport Football Club.

But as coach Justin Rodman said afterwards, perhaps more importantly than any of that — he’s one of the great fellas as well.

Congratulations, Quade.

250 games. Another flag. And a moment the Byard family won’t forget. 🏆🖤🤍

🎙️ THE EMOTIONS SAY IT ALL.

We caught up with Devonport coach Justin Rodman moments after his side completed an incredible sixth straight NWFL Senior Premiership. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

And this one was anything but easy.

Ulverstone came prepared. They challenged Devonport, they were disciplined, structured and took a seven-point lead and all the momentum into the final quarter.

But when the pressure was at its greatest, Devonport went back to what they knew.

Sometimes under pressure, you find sanctuary in routine.

The structures held, the experience kicked in, and when the game was there to be won, Rodman’s men found a way.

An outstanding season from Justin and his coaching group, and a team that was incredibly well drilled when it mattered most.

You could see just how much this one meant after the siren.

Congratulations, Justin. Premiership coach once again. 🏆

Something tells us the Devonport boys might celebrate this one long and hard tonight. 🍻⚫️⚪️

DEVONPORT HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! ⚫️⚪️

The 2026 Harcourts Tasmania NWFL Senior Premiership belongs to the Devonport Football Club after an unbelievable Grand Final against Ulverstone.

Devonport led by 20 points at half-time, before the Robins came roaring back.

By three-quarter time, Ulverstone had turned it around completely, seven points up, all the momentum, and one quarter away from ending one of the great premiership runs in NWFL history.

But champions find a way.

With everything on the line, the experience of Devonport’s players and coaches stood up when it mattered most.

They steadied. They responded. And they got it done.

forget the history books for a moment. This is SIX IN A ROW. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

An incredible Grand Final. An enormous effort from Ulverstone. And another chapter written in an extraordinary era for the Devonport Football Club.
