⭐️ TYERS SOCCER CLUB CELEBRATES OUR COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP REPRESENTATIVES ⭐️
Tyers Soccer Club would like to congratulate our players who were selected to represent the Latrobe Valley at the 2026 Country Championships in Geelong over the weekend.
⚡️ Seth - Under 12 Boys
⚡️ Mason and Logan - Under 13 Boys
⚡️ Leah, Lucy, Kourtney and Tenaya - Under 14 Girls
As a club, Tyers Soccer Club is incredibly proud of each of these players. To be selected to represent your region is a significant achievement and a testament to the commitment, hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their soccer journey. Every one of them represented the Latrobe Valley and Tyers Soccer Club with pride, demonstrating outstanding skill, teamwork, sportsmanship and determination both on and off the field.
The Under 12 Boys competed strongly throughout the weekend and finished 8th on the ladder, while the Under 13 Boys put together a fantastic campaign to finish 7th.
A special mention must go to the Under 14 Girls representatives, who were part of an exceptional Latrobe Valley side. The girls finished 2nd on the ladder, equal on points with Geelong, after an impressive tournament that saw them defeat Geelong in the first staging round, while their only loss of the entire staging rounds came against the same Geelong side. Their performances throughout the weekend proved they could match the competition's strongest team every step of the way.
The Grand Final was a fitting conclusion to an outstanding tournament, with Latrobe Valley once again facing Geelong. After a fiercely contested match, the scores remained level at full time. Extra time could not separate the two teams either, forcing the match into a penalty shoot out. While the results ultimately went Geelong's way, finishing Runners-Up in the championship after such a remarkable campaign is an achievement that the girls should be incredibly proud of.
An enormous congratulations must also go to the Under 14 Girls coach, a proud Tyers Soccer Club coach Katie Goodman, who led the team throughout the entire championship campaign. Guiding a representative side to a Grand Final and championship Runners-up finish is an outstanding achievement and reflects the dedication, leadership and passion she brings to the game.
We would also like to thank Football Victoria Latrobe Valley for selecting these players and providing them with the opportunity to compete at the Country Championships. Representative football is a fantastic experience for young players, and we are grateful for the pathways and opportunities provided to help them develop both as footballers and as young people.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and families who made this opportunity possible. The countless hours spent travelling to and from trainings, games and the championship themselves are a huge commitment, and your support plays a vital role in the success of these young athletes.
To all our representatives - CONGRATULATIONS!! Your hard work, dedication, resilience and sportsmanship were on display for all to see, and you represented the Latrobe Valley and Tyers Soccer Club in a way that should make our entire community proud. Your efforts, attitude and achievements are a credit to yourselves, your families, your coaches and our club.
We are so proud of what you have accomplished and look forward to watching you continue to grow and succeed both on and off the pitch.
