~ A compilation of Karate days gone by ~
Out of the blue after 24 years of no Karate practice Sensei Dave Houghton came to my dojo last week. He has now commenced training with me again at the age of 73 years young. He also brought with him a few rare photographs from the 1980s. I'm not quite sure of the year this one was taken. But I'm sure it was somewhere in NSW when Sensei Higaonna first came to unite Australia. This is a photograph of the Queensland Karateka who came with me to the event. Can anyone out there remember the date year and month? Sensei Dave Houghton far right, Sensei Mike Lehman behind my left shoulder and Sensei Rob Williams to my right. And of course in front of me. He would be around mid 40s and still a force to be reckoned with.

Sensei Mike has had over 43 years training and teaching Goju Ryu Karate in Australia and overseas
He was taught by Sensei Graham Ravey, 8th dan, who was taught, in turn, by Master Morio Higaonna, 10th dan, considered one of the greatest karate masters to have lived in the last 100 years.
In these most dangerous of times one needs to know how to defend oneself, one's family and one's property.
Sensei Mike is not only an expert in Goju Karate but also ironshirt Qi Gong, Weaponry (Bo/Jo), meditation and breathing techniques.
He can give you the skills to ably manage any hurdles, challenges life will throw at you.

Are you capable of being able to defend yourself and/or your family if you are attacked?

Have you any weapons skills?
Do you think you could cope and survive in a crazy, dangerous & unpredictable world?
Many probably won't sadly.
It is all about taking control, developing the skillset and even more importantly the mindset to be able to endure and to have the toolbox necessary to help you and your family survive come what may.
Sensei Mike Lehman who has deeply studied and practised karate for 43 years, he is abundantly qualified to provide you with that toolbox.
A 5th dan in Goju Ryu Karate Sensei Mike has a holistic attitude towards training and combines Karate, with weaponry, breathing, meditation and QI Gong to develop an all round modern day warrior.
This isn't about playing games nor how good one looks ... this is about possible life and/or death confrontations and how to come out the other side unscathed.
