The 2026 Central Coast Academy of Sport Athletics Program is now open for nominations. Designed for young Central Coast Athletes with aspirations of state and national selection, this program provides advanced skill development and holistic athlete education.

Program Highlights:
✅ 5 months of supervised face-to-face Strength & Conditioning sessions
✅ Education workshops covering nutrition, psychology & injury prevention
✅ 2-day performance workshop with athlete retesting and direct coaching from experienced athletics coaches

🏆 NORTH VS SOUTH CUP ⛳

What an incredible weekend of golf at Leura Golf Club in the Blue Mountains.

CCAS athletes Ava Prince and Max Atwell proudly represented Team North, with both players contributing strongly to help secure the overall win for the weekend. 👏

A huge congratulations to both players on an outstanding performance and achievement. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented CCAS both on and off the course.

🌟 UAA INDIGENOUS TALENT ID DAY WRAP-UP 🌟

The Central Coast’s next generation of emerging sporting talent took centre stage at Guzman y Gomez Stadium for the Indigenous Talent Identification Day, with over 160 students registered. They came together for a full day of testing, learning, and opportunity.

From Aussie Rules and Netball to Tennis, Golf, Triathlon and more, students had the chance to test their abilities, try new sports, and uncover strengths they may not have known they had.

The day highlighted not just performance but potential, opening pathways for future development and high-performance opportunities for Indigenous youth across the region.

Huge thanks to UAA Group and Santos Ltd for making this day possible! 🙌

🏅 HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM ATHLETE NEWS 🏅

We’re proud to celebrate Aariv Naidu, Ruby Elward, and Molly Elward, three outstanding athletes from the Central Coast Academy of Sport High Performance Program who continue to showcase the dedication and future of high-performance sport on the Central Coast. 👏

Recently, the athletes competed at the WKF Karate One Youth League in Manila, Philippines, one of only six Youth League tournaments worldwide in 2026 and the only event held in the Asia-Pacific region. The tournament is recognised as the premier international karate competition outside of World Championship events .

🌏 58 countries represented
🌏 World Ranking points on the line

🥋 Ruby competed in the Female Cadet Kumite division, winning her opening bout and progressing to the Quarter Finals.
🥋 Molly competed in the Female U14 Kumite division, claiming a strong 8–2 opening win before also advancing to the Quarter Finals.

For both Ruby and Molly, this was their first experience competing at this level internationally, and they delivered outstanding performances against some of the best young karate athletes in the world.

Representing both their sport and the Central Coast with pride, Aariv, Ruby, and Molly gained invaluable experience competing on the world stage. We’re excited to continue supporting these athletes as they pursue the next level of their sporting journey.

These athletes train at BBMA Gosford & Mingara, whose ongoing support and coaching continue to play an important role in their development outside of our High Performance Program.

To our CCAS coaches, managers, and support crew - thank you. You are the backbone of what we do.

🙌 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK 🙌

This week, we celebrate the incredible people who make Regional Academies of Sport possible - our coaches, managers, and support crew who give their time so our athletes can thrive.

In 2025, 484 volunteers across the RAS network showed up for our athletes, and showed up BIG.

That's 58,000+ hours of dedication, expertise, and heart poured into developing the next generation of Australian sport.

To every volunteer who has given their time, knowledge, and passion to RAS - thank you.

💥 COMMONWEALTH GAMES SELECTION💥

We are so proud to celebrate Central Coast Academy of Sport alumni Alyssa Gillespie, who has been selected in the Australian Dolphins Para Swimming squad for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games .

Alyssa will compete in the 100m Breaststroke (SB8), one of seven rookies named in the 18-strong team. From Rising Star at our 2025 Annual Awards Night to the Commonwealth Games - what an incredible journey!
