A great weekend had at the 2024 Snowy mountains Championships.

Congratulations to all those who took part and gave it a go.

We want to give a big thank you to our land holders for allowing Snowy Zone to utilise Tumba clubs 40km track.. this allowed riders to experience a more enjoyable flat part of the country, with a spectacular back drop.

The TUMBARUMBA Endurance Club look forward to bringing you another new 40km leg in 2025 … we have been scoping out and designing a new leg to compliment our existing 40km track.

The Tumba ride will be meeting soon and we hope to nab a spot on the calendar for mid/late 2025.

Detailed track description.

You will head out of ride base behind the race track, out towards the quarry and up into the forest.

This first section will eventually have riders going past each other, going out and back.

As you can see from the map it is kind of shaped like a weird looking pear… the stalk at the top is the section just mentioned.

The first 25kms will take you out of ride base and up into manus state forest. You will have about 500m of road verge after the quarry before you hit the dirt road. You will continue on for around 23kms of gradual climbs, undulations and long straights whilst winding through the Forrest.
There are no gut buster hills, this section is very achievable, but please keep in mind this section goes for around 23kms.

You will then come out into farm land where you can really get moving, this section will go for around 10kms or so.. this part of the ride is flat and you can really hoot along, but it is worth noting, it could become slippery if wet, being it is grass. You will have multiple manned open gates to go through, some of these gates have cattle grids.. there will be an open gate next to the cattle grid… please thank the gate sitters as you go past, and please DO NOT DROP ANY RUBBISH and be mindful of cattle whilst riding the farm section. Be sure to thank the farmers if they are out spectating.

Once you reach the end of the farm section at Manus Lake you will take a right and head up into the bush for a short stint before coming out onto the track you started on.. from here it is around a 5km ride back down to the quarry, and onto the ride base. Keep in mind once you pop out of the bush you will have riders going in both directions.

- 20km track is a 10km turn around
- 40km track is 1 loop
- 100km track is the same loop 2.5 times

We have not been an able to gain access to the pines this year due to logging.

The ride is good underfoot.. no blue stone.. dirt country roads and grassy farm lands.
No big gutt busting hills.
A quick track to move along.

40km riders… you will do this loop 1 time… please note you will have front runners in the 80 and 100km coming up behind you at some point.. please be mindful of this as they will mostly be moving at speed when coming past you… please always stick to the left of the track when riders are coming up behind you… there is plenty of room for them to over take on the right.

80/100km riders… you will do this loop 2 - 2.5 times. Please note you will come up on the 20/40km riders on the 2nd loop at some point.. please be mindful we have newbies out on track, stay to the right when overtaking.. there will be plenty of room to over take on the right.. please be mindful and give plenty of notice to riders you are passing… and if going past at speed, please look back to make sure who ever your over taking are not being set off.

We understand a majority of those in the 80/100km event are horses preping for the TQ.. we have designed this track for you to be able to get one of those final quick rides in that is going to be good underfoot, and a safe track. Once you have done the first loop in the dark you will know what ur in for in the 2nd. Please ride safely…
