Established in 1958 as a foundation club of the Cairns Australian Football League, Centrals (the Bulldogs) has a proud history spanning over 6 decades and has celebrated 12 senior premierships. In the mid 1980’s the club secured land at the Trinity Beach Sporting Complex for the Bulldogs’ Senior and Junior players to call home. The new ground and clubhouse were commemorated by the first Senior gam
e being played against Cities United Football Club in 1985. The day was a celebration for the club with many past players, members and families joining the local community to watch The Bulldogs emerge as winners of this special game. Centrals prides itself as a family club, the move to Trinity Beach provided the opportunity for the club to grow and nurture its family focussed culture through engagement and support of the northern beaches community. The club’s commitment to the local community has been reflected in the support and participation of local families through the Junior and Senior teams and in more recent times, the Womens team who entered the competition in 2015. The Club’s Board is enriched with club stalwarts, past Bulldogs junior and senior players and accomplished local business people, demonstrating a depth of experience in football administration and business acumen. The Board are committed to building both a stronger club and local league, in partnership with the Trinity Beach Sports Club, our 6,000 strong supporter base and sponsorship partners, keeping Centrals in a solid position moving forward. With the appointment of our Football Manager in 2019, the football side of the Bulldogs club is fast becoming a strong and secure business entity. The skills, experience and connections of the Football Manager have enabled the attraction of quality players to Centrals and AFL Cairns, lifting standards within the competition to levels not seen before. In 2021, Centrals applauded all Senior teams for competing in the finals series. In addition to this, Bulldogs players from the Seniors, Reserves and Colts teams received the AFL Cairns League Best and Fairest medals and Womens player received the league’s coaches MVP runner up award. In addition the AFL Cairns teams of the year included 3 of the Senior and 3 of the Womens’ playing group, these accolades demonstrate the quality of our Bulldogs family. Building on this,
Centrals has recruited significant talent for key roles within the playing group and the club looks forward to further success in 2022. We invite you to join the Bulldogs Family on our 2022 journey! Social (1 year) $5.00
