🏀 Looking Ahead to Summer Basketball 🏀

While the Winter Season has only just begun, St Michael's Basketball Club is already starting to plan ahead for the Summer Season, expected to commence in October.

To help us gauge interest and prepare for team numbers, we're inviting families to submit an early Expression of Interest for children who may be interested in playing next season.

We're particularly keen to hear from families with children born in 2018 or 2019, including those who:
🏀 Are currently playing U8 basketball
🏀 Have participated in Aussie Hoops
🏀 Are looking to try basketball for the first time
🏀 Have recently moved to the area
🏀 Simply love being active and part of a team

At St Michael's Basketball Club, we pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, supportive and family-friendly environment where players can develop skills, build confidence, make friendships and enjoy the game of basketball.

No previous basketball experience is required.

SMB is currently looking for a few additional skilled players to join our U12 Boys A Grade for the Winter 2026 season.

Our Tiny T-Birds Introductory Program is a fun, supportive 𝟯-𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 experience designed for young athletes and families to get a feel for the T-Birds pathway ahead of official tryouts.

🏀 Open to athletes born in 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴 & 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵

📣 COACH / TEAM MANAGER INFO REQUIRED – WINTER 2026 📣

As we head into the Winter 2026 season, we need each team to confirm their Coach and/or Team Manager ASAP.

🏀 This is essential so they can be assigned in PlayHQ and receive important communications from both SMB and TABA, including:
• Game changes
• Forfeits
• Cancellations
• Important updates throughout the season

👉 If your team hasn’t already done so, please message us with the name of your Coach/Team Manager as soon as possible.

Each team is responsible for sourcing their own Coach/Team Manager (this is usually a parent, family member or friend).

Coaches must hold a valid Working With Children Check (this is free to obtain).

🚨PLAYING TOPS – RETURN REMINDER🚨

A friendly reminder to all players who were part of SMB last season and are NOT continuing with us this season; if you haven’t already, please return your playing top ASAP.

🏀 Tops can be returned by placing them in the blue SMB bin near the entrance of the stadium.

Returning tops promptly helps us ensure all teams are ready to go for the new season — we really appreciate your help! 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who responded to our earlier post this week - we’ve made great progress and are so close to finalising teams for the winter season 🙌
