We know many people are feeling petition-fatigued — but after yesterday’s announcement from the Victorian Government, this one matters.
The Government has announced a review of firearm laws following the Bondi terrorist attack.
Our key asks are simple and reasonable:
👉 First: the review must properly examine whether existing laws should already have prevented the Bondi attack.
Because the reality is this:
The Bondi terrorists should not have had access to legally obtained fi****ms.
The red flags were there, and the laws already existed — but enforcement, monitoring and intervention failed.
👉 Second: the issues must be kept separate.
Lawful firearm ownership, extremist ideology, and antisemitic or hate-based violence should not be jumbled together in legislation or reviews.
Field & Game Australia members overwhelmingly support strong, effective anti-terror laws.
What we do not support is governments bundling terrorism and hate crime with lawful firearm ownership, then using that confusion to justify new restrictions on compliant, law-abiding people.
The message to government is clear:
• Separate the issues
• Fix enforcement failures first
• Don’t rush expensive, ineffective restrictions that don’t improve public safety
If you can sign just one more petition, please make it this one:

Thank you to FGA member Ryan and Melina Bath MP for their work in bringing this together
