After these photographs were taken, we sat at the kitchen table with chicken sandwiches and tea.

Melinda’s babies are grown. Mine are small. We’re at different ends of mothering, and yet there are familiar parallels between us. Life on farms, work we care deeply for, thirsty gardens, lemon-scented gums, and children at the centre of everything.

Motherhood, family and work. All of it shaped by place.
