After assembling the rifle as per the supplied video, i put a green dot on it and headed to the range after dinner to meet a mate. We both have PB12 shotguns so the button felt the same between the rifle and shotgun. If you're going to shoot IPSC Rifle or IPSC Shotgun its nice to have the same controls. We fired 40 of Wi******er white box and 20 OSA. During the first 40 rounds (both ammo types) there were quite a few failures. We tried the factory mag and a pmag but it didn't make a difference. On ejection, the bolt came back but you couldn't press the button to chamber a round. To clear it, you had to pull the bolt to the rear and then press the button again. After we got through 40 rounds (and a few extra shots of oil) there were no malfunctions with either mag. Ejection rang smoothly on every round, even the ones that failed to lock the bolt to the rear, throwing the cases a decent distance from the rifle.
I ran out of time to pull it apart and have a good look at it, but i will get that done on Saturday. I have 4 IPSC Rifle shooters lined up to put some rounds through it on Sunday. It will be interesting to see all of their thoughts, so stay tuned. I will take more videos on Sunday, if you want to see anything specific, let me know and i will try and get the shots.
I didn't test accuracy, i got the dot zeroed at 15m but when we moved back to 50m, the wind blew the target over 10 shots and we were to lazy to go and stand it back up. Most of the 10 shots were in a a zone sized group, slightly to the left.
For the haters out there, yes they are 30 round mags and yes its legal for us to shoot ipsc with them in Victoria.
