A great read on Al’s Team Jefferson RAAM Solo

“This year was the hardest.”

Townsville’s Allan Jefferson has finished second overall at Race Across America (RAAM) on his fourth attempt at the gruelling 5,000km race across the United States.

The scale of RAAM remains difficult to comprehend - Jefferson covered almost 5,000km, climbed more than 55,000 metres and slept for less than 24 hours over the 10-day race.

“I can’t believe they’re not lining up in the thousands to do this,” he joked.

One of the year’s most remarkable endurance cycling stories has barely made a ripple. So we went straight to Allan to find out what really happened during his extraordinary race across America. 🫡
