Huge congratulations to Kayla! We are so proud of everything she has accomplished both here at Townsville and now in Southport!

Kayla Boothby is an outstanding sailing professional whose contribution to Southport Yacht Club and the broader sailing community has been significant. Combining technical expertise, operational excellence and strong leadership, she has delivered measurable improvements across race management, compliance, event delivery and club operations.
From her early days as an Assistant Instructor, Kayla has built an impressive and diverse career, developing exceptional skills in stakeholder management, communication and logistics. Her ability to lead, innovate and deliver successful outcomes under pressure has made her a highly valued member of the sailing community.

We’re officially on the countdown to the 2026 Townsville Stone Sprints Regatta — just three weeks left until one of the biggest weekends on our sailing calendar.

It was our last Tackers on Saturday...We are insanely proud of what these little rockstars have accomplished this term and cannot wait to see how they progress in the future, either within our club racing or on their next tackers level!

While some of our gals were out enjoying the big boats, the gents — and some of our very talented ladies — were tearing it up on the small boats!
Club Champs #9 served up lighter winds, but our sailors rose to the challenge and delivered some seriously smooth racing. They did it, and they did it well.

Over the weekend, eight of our TSC sailors hit the water at the Townsville Yacht Club Gal’s Regatta, representing the club brilliantly.

A huge congratulations to Helena May, skippered by our own Renee Cordingley, who secured an impressive 2nd place overall.

The most TSC‑populated boat was Ikigai, with four of our girls onboard and skippered by Di Kelsey — an awesome effort from the whole crew.

We’re incredibly proud of all our sailors who competed and showcased the strength of women’s sailing at TSC!
