Wow times flies 12 months already since the last NQ Fishing Show, I must admit that after 20 years of sitting in the studio every Saturday morning its nice to have a whole weekend back , do I miss doing the show 100% I do. Have I discussed going back yes I have but it just wouldn't be the same but as they say you never say never.
I do have some new equipment coming which will make it easier for me to produce more podcasts , so stay tuned as one will be out in the next couple of weeks and a huge thanks to everyone for all the messages and texts over the last 12 months knowing what the show meant to you all is very humbling ♥️

Quick little run this morning with Kayleen Powis to make sure boat is running well before Thursdays 4lb Comp , lucky I did as overheating alarm came on and then went off , a quick phone call to Rising Sun Marine and she is in for a service on Monday Thanks Heaps Luke.
Did manage 1 little rat and I mean little 🤣.
Look out at the 4lb comp I should be right if my fish are all this size 🤣🤣🎣 , fishing with the Shimano team should be fun

Geez if you didn't have a tear in your eye over Jai Arrow walking on to the ground you have no emotions.
For all the bad that happens in Rugby League its the good that makes it great. Well done all involved for making this happen

Well this is going to be different, I have been invited to fish the 4lb club comp with Shimano , time to ditch the 30lb braid and fish with some lighter line.
In to Tackle World Townsville to spool up some reels 🎣🛥.
Looking forward to catching up for a chat and just chilling

Hey gary hope you are well, mate just thought id share with you, yesterday when i launched at the coast guard ramp at break water marina @ 600am, i spotted a syringe 💉 floating in the water a bit out off the ramp, i didnt have a net to scoop it up, but it could easily end up washed up on the ramp, lits of people walk bare foot getting in and out of their cars launching, i did share to a couple of townsville fishing groups, thought you may like to share as you have a big audience that would see it and who uses that ramp.

Funny story of the week , Marine Rescue Port Headland reported they had lost a training leg at sea and couldnt find it 🤔 I am going to go out on a LIMB 🤣 here and say the EPIRB probably wasnt working , if it was they would of found it and given it a TOE 🤔 back to base , hopefully no one will get the BOOT 😳 over it 🤣🤣🤣🛥

Well first day done at Palmerville and so nice to wind down, went for a walk with the detector yesterday and you have to put your mountain goat legs on because it is hard going but such a lovely part of the country.
Never expecting to find anything it was nice to dig up 20 bits of tin 🤣 and 1 bullet but it was even nicer to find a small gold nugget , I am working on the principle that every tiny nugget I find gets me closer to a good sized nugget ⛏️✨️ I suppose that's what keeps you going throw in a bucket of redclaw and its been a great start

As fisherman we are always looking for that new spot that holds fish that hasn't had a lot of targeted fish and the same with looking for gold, I have a little interest in detectingband its exactly the same as fishing, you read the ground just like you read the creek.
I have set up camp at Palmerville and hope to find something other than bottle tops but its the one last cast scenario just over that hill could be a pile of GOLD 🤣⛏️✨️ but if you dont try you never know.
At least there's a few barra in the dams I can have a crack at

How cool is this before I go for a fish in the bay I always check the AIMS weather and camera to see what conditions are like in the bay , sometimes you see a few boats fishing around or going past the pylon but this is the best shot I have seen from it.
