Huge thanks to the organisers of the Jennifer Board Memorial Football Carnival for having us back this year.

We have a large workforce and it’s great to be able to bring so many people from a variety of different departments together, to play in this community event.

Thank you to everyone who gets involved to make it an enjoyable day.

Looking forward to having Natalie Marr MP playing for the Chiefs and supporting the carnival.

Queensland Corrective Services

Townsville Chiefs MRLC have entered 4 teams into the final Jennifer Board Memorial Football Carnival!

Jumping codes from their usual Masters Rugby League Competition to take part in the event and test their skills at the real football sport 😉

We are very excited to have these teams in the competition and thank them for their ongoing support! After last years carnival, the Chiefs did their own fundraising to raise enough funds to make a giant donation to Angel-Paws Dog & Cat Rescue 🧡

Back in mid-March, Mrbuckaroonie launched a fundraising campaign to support children entering foster care through Hope in a suitcase Australia - North Qld region.

Specially designed Aussie Flag polo shirts and fishing shirts were produced and sold, raising more than $6,000 for this incredible cause. The funds helped purchase 200 suitcases through Alibaba, with 100 delivered to Townsville and 100 sent to HIAS in Newcastle. Additional duffle bags, baby items and toddler essentials were also purchased from Kmart to assist children entering foster care during times of crisis.

A huge thank you goes to SMG Sports for their logistical support and assistance in sourcing an overseas manufacturer, helping maximise profits and ensuring as much support as possible could be provided to children in need.

The Townsville Chiefs were proud to contribute $1,000 from our Friday night meat tray fundraising efforts to support this worthy initiative.

Children entering foster care often arrive with very few personal belongings. Hope in a Suitcase works tirelessly to provide them with dignity, comfort and a sense of belonging during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

Great game of masters footy last night at Western Lions RLFC Townsville. Both games were played in an enjoyable format.

Thanks to the Townsville Pirates Masters Rugby League for organising the night.

Little mention to our Chiefs players who played their first game of masters last night. Great to see you enjoying your first game and embracing what masters footy is all about.

Players of the match were all the kids who came out to support their Dad or Grandad.

We look forward to another night, one day soon.
