🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS

A tough weekend on the scoreboard for the Saints, but plenty of individual performances to celebrate — and Fourth Grade bringing home the win! 💙💛

FIRST GRADE

Saints 101 defeated by Norths 157 by 56 runs
Norths posted 157 before Saints were bowled out for 101.
JD Wilkins top-scored with 32 (50), with Zac Cannon adding 28 (45) and Cameron Palmer contributing 12 (28).
With the ball, Upalendu Haldar was the standout with 4/19 from 9 overs, while JD Wilkins picked up 2/17 and Kieron Stokes took 1/17.

SECOND GRADE

Saints 57 defeated by Wanderers 131 by 74 runs
A tough day with the bat for Second Grade, with Aaron Campbell leading the way with 23 (24).
With the ball, Brendan Wakeley finished with 5/25 from 7.5 overs, supported by Jamie Campbell with 2/18 and Sagar More with 1/17.

THIRD GRADE

Saints 108 defeated by Wests 157 by 49 runs
Third Grade fought hard, with Parminder Thind top-scoring with 38 (67) and Ian Jones adding 16 (43).
With the ball, Harshdeep Singh and Ian Jones picked up a wicket each.

FOURTH GRADE 🔥

Saints 7/169 defeated Suburban Parks 7/114 by 55 runs
THAT'S A WIN! 🏆
A fantastic performance from Fourth Grade, putting 169 on the board before restricting Suburban Parks to 114.
Justin Lal led the way with the bat with an unbeaten 26 (21)*, while Rahul Balagath and Byju George both contributed 24.
With the ball, Justin Lal backed up his batting performance with 3/20, with Ronald George taking 2/16 and Byju George finishing with 1/10.

A massive thank you to everyone who pulled on the Saints colours this weekend. Wins and losses are all part of the game — what matters is continuing to turn up, compete and support each other as a club.

And a special shoutout to Fourth Grade for getting the Saints on the winners' list this weekend! 💙💛

🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS

WHAT. A. START.

The Saints have opened the new season in style, with all three grades recording wins across the weekend!

FIRST GRADE
Saints 199 defeated Wests 178 by 21 runs
A strong all-round performance to get the season underway. Jd Wilkins (65) and Geo Benny (60) led the way with the bat, before Jason Batchelor (3/14) and Bailey Smith (2/26) helped Saints defend the total.

SECOND GRADE
Saints 5/107 defeated Brothers 106 by 5 wickets
The bowlers did the job first, restricting Brothers to 106 before Brendan Wakeley (37) and Aaron Campbell (30) led the run chase to get Saints across the line.

THIRD GRADE
Saints 6/163 defeated Brothers 129 by 34 runs
A great performance from Third Grade to round out the weekend!
Parminder Thind (48) top-scored, with Todd Perry unbeaten on 33* and Chris Llewellyn (26) making valuable contributions.
With the ball, Ashraful Kader (4/16) and Ian Jones (4/24) were the standouts.

And let's not forget.. a moment for the double hattrick by Ian Jones 🏆🏆

🔥 THREE GRADES. THREE WINS. ONE VERY HAPPY SAINTS FAMILY.

A massive congratulations to all of our players who took the field this weekend. It takes a whole club to get three teams on the park, and we’re incredibly grateful to our coaches, volunteers, scorers, supporters and sponsors who make it all possible.

The season is officially underway… and the Saints are 3–0!

In amongst a full weekend of welcoming cricket back to town we also had a few of our Saints ladies head down to Pub on Palmer for our second-last Cowboy's home game of the season! 🍻🏏

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who give up their time throughout the year. Whether you're selling raffle tickets, helping on game day, working behind the scenes or simply showing up to support the club — we appreciate you! 💙 💛

Pete who won the jersey on Saturday, was so excited that he took off his tigers jersey to put on his new Cowboys jersey 🤠🐮

Results wrap ups come through on Mondays, but we had to post about this one early.

Saints Junior Vice-President, and Life Member Ian Jones achieved a remarkable double hattrick in Third Grade at JCU this afternoon.

With the game on the line, Jonesy came and rewrote the script by taking an incredible 4 wickets in 4 balls to secure victory.

A lifelong dream achieved, not once but twice. Great stuff Jonesy! Get around the big man! 💙💛

SAINTS, GET AN EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT! Register for club Blast (5-8 years) and Junior Smash Series (8-10 years [formerly Blast Challengers]) before September 1 and pay $125 instead of $140!

Both Blast & Smash Series will begin in the second week of Term 4 (from the week of October 12).

Blast Cricket: Club-based one-hour after-school program for boys and girls aged 5-8 years (check individual clubs for which weekday). A fun-first program designed for kids new to the sport to learn through exciting activities and modified games. It’s all about smiles, high-fives and building a love for cricket. Participants receive a Blast shirt, hat, bat and ball as part of registration.

Junior Smash Series: A modified cricket competition for boys and girls aged 8-10. Played with a rubber ball, so no protective equipment required. Everyone gets to bat, to bowl and field in every position in a fast-paced (75 minutes), super-fun format played at Endeavour Park (Annandale) on Friday afternoons from 4.45pm. Most clubs also hold a training session during the week. All playing equipment provided. Participants receive a club playing shirt as part of registration.
