🏏 Subbies Senior Weekend Wrap
It was a Father’s Day at Subbies, and our Senior sides put in some big performances across the weekend. From a first win of the season to the return of Fourth Grade, there was plenty to celebrate!
First Grade:
First Grade posted a strong 4/175, but were narrowly defeated by Brothers, who finished 3/176.
With the bat, Taj (76) and captain Chris (78) dug deep for the team, putting together crucial knocks to set up a competitive total.
With the ball, Drew (1/28) and Captain Chris (1/20) made Brothers work hard for the win, but unfortunately, the visitors got over the line.
Second Grade:
Second Grade faced a monster chase after Beaches posted a mammoth 4/253.
With the ball, Captain Adam (2/57) and Isaac (2/54) led the way with two wickets each.
The fightback was hard-fought, with Josh battling his way to a determined 58, with the assistance of Jamie (20). Despite their best efforts, the chase proved just a little too much on the day.
🏏 Third Grade:
Third Grade secured their first win of the season, taking down Wests in a strong all-round performance!
David led the way with a classy 51, before backing it up with the ball, taking 2/22.
Royce chipped in with 22, while Daniel was outstanding with the ball, claiming 2/10 to help secure a convincing 29-run victory.
A fantastic result and a well-deserved first win for the season! 👏
Fourth Grade:
It was a special weekend for Fourth Grade, with the side playing its first round in many years!
There were plenty of reasons to celebrate, including a couple of father-and-son duos taking the field, along with three debutants playing their first game of senior cricket at Sub Parks. What a way to start their senior careers!
Facing a decent Saints bowling attack, Captain Luke led from the front with a respectable 39, while Ben and Het continued to chip away at the runs.
With the ball, there were some incredible catches from debutants Connor and Elijah, showing plenty of confidence in their first taste of senior cricket.
Benny was outstanding and economical, finishing with 3/6, while Connor chipped in with 2/39.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in getting Fourth Grade back on the park — and especially to our junior debutants! 🏏
