The Kiteracing community are quickly being frustrated by the premature failure of their beloved Ozone R1V2 and V3 kites. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Ozone feel and I am fastest on these kites, but..... I have also been on the frustrating roller coaster of what is the dreaded front stall. Essentially, once your kite starts front stalling, it will not end!! Most of the talk in the community is ar
ound bridle adjustments and other factors are the internal diagonal ribs torn or the internal tension straps torn, which definitely need to be fixed. You can pull in B row and maybe let off C and K which may temporarily halt the front stall but also at the same time the kite DOESN’T PERFORM as it was originally designed. Your upwind angles will suffer and the downwind will also be laboured. At times people have replaced the full bridle set only to still have a front stall problem $$$
( I’m one of them)
Worry no more because I have found a problem that is a major contributor to the dreaded front stall and it has nothing to do with the bridles. It is in fact a problem with the internal structure, and I have a modification that stops the front stall in all wind conditions that the kite was originally designed and tested in. And the kicker is the bridle adjustments can be set back to the factory settings (all even using the long bridle check at the A1, B1, C1 lower knot) Even with slightly out of spec bridles. So then once again you can enjoy the famous Ozone R1 kite performance that they are well known for. My name is Troy Bower and I'm located in Townsville, Australia. I love kiteracing and I love tinkering. I'm also a tight arse, and I break stuff all the time. (therefore I am fixing stuff all the time) I'm honest and I'm not out to rip people off to make a dollar. If I can't fix it, you won't get charged. International repairs are welcome
