A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful swimming community for getting behind our Containers for Change recycling initiative at the recent TTASC Benchmark Meet! 💙💚

Together, our swimmers, families and visiting clubs helped raise $23.90 through eligible containers collected over the weekend.

While $23.90 might seem like a small amount, every container counts — helping us support Townsville Tourist Amateur Swimming Club while also keeping recyclable containers out of landfill. 🌏♻️

Thank you for your ongoing support of Team Tourist and for helping us make a positive difference in our community.

What a wonderful weekend it was at Tobruk Pool for the 2026 Townsville Tourist Amateur Swimming Club Transition Benchmark Meet! 💙💛

A huge thank you to all the clubs who joined us and helped make the weekend such a great celebration of swimming, competition and community.

We loved welcoming swimmers, coaches, officials and families from across North Queensland — your support and participation helped create a fantastic atmosphere on pool deck. 👏🏼

A special thank you to the incredible Swimming North Queensland officials and volunteers who gave their time across the weekend. Meets simply wouldn’t happen without your dedication and support of our swimmers. 👏🏼

We’d also like to give a very special shout-out to Louise Baker 💐

After an amazing 30 years of volunteering, Louise has retired from her official duties. We are incredibly grateful for the time, knowledge and commitment she has given to swimming and to the many swimmers and families she has supported over the years.

Thank you, Louise, for 30 wonderful years of service. ❤️ You leave an incredible legacy within our swimming community.

🏊‍♀️💙 DAY ONE DONE — AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR OFFICIALS! 💙🏊‍♂️

What a fantastic first day of racing at the 2026 Benchmark Transition Meet at Tobruk Pool!
Behind every race, start, finish and result is a team of dedicated volunteers making it all happen — and today we want to shine the spotlight on our Swimming North Queensland officials. 👏

Thank you for giving up your time to support our swimmers and our sport. Your knowledge, professionalism and commitment ensure our athletes get the opportunity to race in a safe, fair and supportive environment.

🌟We were thrilled to welcome our new officials in training poolside today. Every official starts somewhere, and it's fantastic to see new volunteers stepping forward to learn, contribute and become part of the team.

What a fantastic weekend at Tobruk Pool as Townsville Tourist Amateur Swimming Club proudly hosted the 2026 Benchmark Transition Meet! 🏆

From the first whistle to the final race, it was wonderful to see so many swimmers diving in, racing hard, supporting each other and enjoying the spirit of competition.

A huge THANK YOU to all the visiting clubs who travelled to join us — from Cairns in the north, Charters Towers to the west and Mackay in the south. Your enthusiasm helped make the weekend such a success! 👏

And of course, we couldn't do it without our incredible Tourist families and volunteers. From setting up the pool, timekeeping and officiating, to the BBQ, raffle, presentations, pack-up and everything in between — this is Team Tourist! 💙

Thank you to our coaches, officials, sponsors, supporters and everyone who played a part in making the meet happen.

Most importantly — congratulations to all our swimmers! 🎉 Whether you achieved a new PB, tried a new event, stepped up to the blocks for the first time or simply gave it your best — you should be proud.

After 30 years of service to Townsville Tourists, as a parent, club and committee member and SNQ official, today was Louise’s last Tourist meet.
