Today would be our first day of racing at Speedweek 26, but mother nature had different plans for us.
BY NOW, Sabine Schermer would have done her first run, Jon Guidera would have started about 20 Roockies on the Yamaha World & Royal Enfield track 2 and a few fast cars and bikes would have run on Carbon Impact track 1.
Diané Ranck would have called the races with vigor, Shane Reynolds would have likely made some final modifications, Laura Hodgson would have settled her butterflies in her tummy after her Rookie run, Braden Austin may have achieved his goal of a better PB and Matt Sheppard would have had a chance to look at his first time slip.
Frank would be making the final adjustments on the Royal Enfield, and our dedicated crew Alice Zee, George Zee, Ursula Chapman, Craig Chapman , Kathryn Casey, Elke Bayer and Leigh Widger would have settled into their routines.
While we were all super sad that things turned out different, we all made alternative plans and instead of going fast, we went real slow, cruicing the Murray River, catching up with friends, visiting Pt Lincoln, a trip to KI and feeling lucky and greatful that we are living or are visiting Australia and we are not in a region of war and unrest.
The good News is that we are holding a second event in November and while we can't control heavan, we have something to look forward to.
See you all in November, and please let me know if you are rolling over your March entry, and if crew members can attend.
To all the women riders and racers, happy IWD and lets plan our next adventure.
