Surfrider Foundations Drew McPherson joined Surf Coast locals, enjoying long days in the water on some lined-up waves.
With water temperatures hovering around 13°C and a much colder wind chill, it is evident that the Victorian coast is now entering the thick of winter, with a series of low-pressure systems starting to deliver consistent, groomed swell.
Torren mixed things up, riding an experimental 4’6” Simon Jones-designed twin fin, while Laurie Towner focused on asymmetrical designs. Hahnee, a surfer from Tasmania who also features in needessentials’ latest film, The Spaces In Between, rode a self-shaped longer-length board, while Drew enjoyed another unconventional craft Simon Jones Designs -designed Remote Location twin fin on his backhand. The crew took unconventional approaches to some quality winter conditions, and below are some images from the swell.
