Toowoomba Cricket Women’s Representative Squads - EOI

Exciting news to announce!! Thanks to the outstanding success of the 2025-2026 TCI Women’s Competition, TCI will be naming Women’s Representative Squads for both Women’s U19, and Women’s Open age groups.

Players named in these squads will have the opportunity to participate in some Winter Academy Training Sessions, as well as some pre-season games leading into the new 2026-2027 Cricket Season.

Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to stay engaged with the game of cricket through the off-season, this announcement also opens up a Representative Pathway opportunity for those interested (which generally involves representation through DDSWQ, South Country, QLD Country – then potentially QLD Fire!)

Eligibility criteria for the Toowoomba Representative Women’s Squad is intentionally minimal, with the main criteria being that a player must be registered with a TCI affiliated Club or Hub. Players must be 15yrs or older as of September 1, 2026.

Expressions Of Interest (EOI) are now open – players must complete the attached form to be considered for squad selection: https://forms.gle/vqzQVLJ7o3pcdNn66

TCI - JUNIOR CRICKET UPDATE - ONE OFF = ALL OFF rule to be relaxed for this round.

TCI wish to advise that it is currently raining in Highfields and games around that area may not proceed. Under the current TCI Rules and Regulations that would mean ALL games would be called off.
TCI are also aware that in other parts of Toowoomba it is not raining.

Due to the lack of cricket over the past few weeks TCI are relaxing this rule for this weekend and leaving the decision of whether fields are too wet to the coaches.

If a game in your division is cancelled all called off all. The No Points policy will come into effect.

TCI urge COMMON SENSE to be applied. If coaches cannot agree on whether a game can proceed then the decision is that it MUST NOT GO AHEAD.

TCI also request that both teams check the Toowoomba Regional Council website to check the status of the field prior to making a decision.
A link to do this attached:
https://www.tr.qld.gov.au/Places-and-activities/Sport-and-recreation/Sporting-fields-and-clubs/Council-sporting-fields-status

Please ensure you follow the Toowoomba Regional Council wet weather procedure. (See below)
Sports Field Closure Process

It is the responsibility of user groups to check the status of the facility they are using.

The Sport & Rec team endeavours to update the Field Status webpage by 2pm if required. We may not always get an opportunity to email all clubs to notify them of a change.

In periods of rain, please view Council’s website for field status. If field status is -

At inspection required status- please complete the wet weather form to assess if use can continue. No vehicle entry is permitted.

At closed status – absolutely no use or vehicle entry is permitted.
Process Summary:

2.
Facility inspections and assessment undertaken by TRC officers (if necessary)\.
3.
Council decision - OPEN, INSPECTION REQUIRED or CLOSED. The results of the inspections undertaken at step 2 will inform the status of sport fields and
4.
The status for each facility and/or sports field will to be updated on Toowoomba Regional Council website by 2pm daily, during periods of wet weather and can be found by following this link: Sports Field Status
5.
In the event a facility or sports field receives a status of Inspection Required, user groups wishing to potentially use the facility during this period must complete the Toowoomba Regional Council Wet Weather Inspection Form for the sports field they intend to use.

If the fields are set to “Inspection Required”, please ensure all submitted responses on the Wet weather inspection Form are accurate and honest. Providing misleading information can affect the outcome and may place Council‑managed fields at risk of damage.
Council's decision on whether excessive damage has been caused shall be made by experienced staff and shall be final.
Council Fees.

Hopefully some cricket can be played.

Check if a sports field is open, pending inspection or closed during wet weather.
