I have been a social skier for over 30 years and loved every minute of it until 10 years ago when I found I was having a lot of trouble holding on to the rope when being pulled from the water. I bought gloves and that helped a little but then I started experiencing stiffness in my fingers and joint pain for a week or two after a weekend on the water. I was finding I couldn't hold on for long without it becoming too painful in my wrists. I persevered like this until a number of years ago when I would only have one or two skis for the entire weekend and then the rest of the time I would be boat driver. No longer do I have to wear gloves and only ski for a few minutes then have to drop off due to not having the strength to hold on to the rope.
