Bun Bu Ryo Do Martial Arts Association Inc.

Bun Bu Ryo Do Martial Arts Association Inc. A genuine, multi-discipline martial arts Club here in Toowoomba. Come train in a supportive, challenging environment today!

BBRD is an official University of Southern Queensland Club. It acts as a cooperative of martial arts disciplines, each with their own accreditation and affiliation. It currently supports classes in:
• Arnis
• FlexiFit
• Go
• Gym and Swim
• Iaido
• Jodo (Zen Ken Renmei)
• Jujutsu (Bun Bu Ryo Do, and Kokusai Jujutsu Ryu)
• Kendo
• Kyudo
• Punchfit
• Systema

All instructors have many years experien

ce in their respective disciplines and have current first aid qualifications and blue cards. The Club is one of the few genuine multi-disciplinary organisation where instructors teach their own passion while being committed to the promotion of all martial arts. We are enthusiasts that love what we do, but recognise that there are many ways to engage in the martial arts and that there is an art out there that will suit everyone. The Club offers the opportunity to cross train in different, complete systems, rather than training in an amalgam of styles or approaches. We cater to the University and wider Toowoomba communities, and are committed to the safe and effective practice of martial arts. All instructors are fully qualified and insured. Our facilities are first rate, and we take seriously our duty of care to members. The bulk of our training sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday night from 6.30 pm till 9.30pm abs Saturday afternoon from 2.00 pm till 6.00 pm at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre, Baker Street and it is worthwhile checking the Club's website for times/locations of various discipline's training sessions.

Lots of changes for BBRD over the next few months.

Some of you may have noticed that the website and Club attached emails are not working. In addition to being physically homeless, we are kinda digitally homeless as well.

This is due to a domain name registration issue that we are trying to resolve as quickly as possible, though it may take some time.

Currently, the page will be our primary way of communicating with the world.

One more challenge, I suppose …

After 16 years as an affiliated UniSQ Club, BBRD was unceremoniously deregistered by the Student Guild on Friday. The proximal causes of this were a list of reaffiliation criteria that we would always find impossible to meet, including having an Executive fully staffed by current studying UniSQ stu

BBRD is moving to WhatsApp for communications regarding training with the launch of the Bun Bu Roy Do Martial Arts Community. This will enable a safe and up to date place for members to get information in the announcements group - only admins can post here. Plus each discipline of the club can/wil

Given the large break that we have had since before Christmas, I would like to encourage everyone to reflect on what you may need to improve your general physical fitness and capacity to train in the coming weeks. It can be very tempting to push all limits the first session you get back into train

It has been some time between Budo Blog/Bulletin posts and sitting here at the very start of the new year, I though that it would be good to share with the Club’s members and friends what has been happening over the past few months. When last I posted we were in preparation for a visit by Jason Gr
